I wanted to kick Barris's ass!!! But when Travis escaped out the old furnace and busted Chase trying to "hot dog on a stick" Oscar's ass, I was like, For fucks sake 77, please bitch slap Oscar in the face!
I couldn't take watching Oscar's weak ass! I almost lost it. LOL
I wanted 77 to knock Oscar the fuck into reality :)
I watched the movie last night. Its scary but unfortunately realistic. I just realized my boss at work is like that sadistic police officer..have to change the job..
@1JORDANAS Actually it did happen in real life in 1971 with Stanford college students, its called the Zimbardo Prison Experiment, you should look it up.
@1JORDANAS ''in real life nothing like this would have happened'' 90% of all movies ever created contain material which wouldn't happen in real life you are such a fucking idiot 0_o
@MikeTheKingScorp1993 u dumn fuck someone made a commnet that this movies was true LIFE. So i made a commnet back, and also it turnes out it was more that 50% REAL!! SO FUCK U!
I think the guard who is the ring leader is so used to being controlled by his mom that he now feels powerful for once so he is taking it out on everyone. It's really sad that men cant be put together for 2 weeks without tunring into animals
USA=Copy Movies from Europe, like Vanilla Sky (abre los ojos from Spain) , Quarantine (like Rec from Spain), The Experiment(das Experiment from Germany) and so on... you dont make really good movies anymore!!!
Fuck this flick, just shows when nerdy, live with mom at 42, non pussy gettin, friendless, picked on, small dicked, assholes DO when givin some power..Just like cops and guards now in the US..Welcome to the Police state USA!!!
While the ethical (and legal) premises of the film are questionable, this movie shows that there are probably a lot of sociopaths out there - people who are well-functioning in all kinds of social arenas but are - given the right circumstances - f*cked up in their heads...
Just watched it, pretty nice movie except that I hate the end.
I'm curious what is the definition of Violence in this movie context?
For me mental abuse is also an violence, so it's ironic that there is no red light at all until a real and out of control fight.
If these situations are real, will the scientist stop that? Seemed like they allow those abusive to happen, so it can not say that this is "experiment" cause the scientist doesn't follow their own rules.
This is a good movie. A very good movie. But I still think that if Berrys and that horny guy (don't remember his name) wasn't a part of the experiment, everything had went much more smoothly. But still, as I said, a good movie!
The film is shit, they barely make it a week and one of the guards resorts to rape. They go 14 days for 14,000 and the main characters gets pissed on over a bit of sugar, surely they're make arrangements for a life threatening disease!
It's actually called "Stanford prison experiment". Many of the participants were Stanford students. It was mentioned in Zimbardo's own book, "The Lucifer Effect".
Forest Whitaker and the rest of the power trippin' authority show how Haterism can and will lead 2 breaking ordinary people in2 Gansterism. This was a simple experiment and it all went wrong from the beginning. Krazie movie you should watch.
@PrincessCrystalMeth are you kidding me, the guy tries to rape someone, then three guys start taking a piss on some the guy, and its all about fighting and shit, this movie is to graphic to be recommend
to all those who have been posting on this video who OBVIOUSLY have no idea what this movie is about... please pick up a copy of The Lucifer Effect written by a psychologist named Philip Zimbardo... and it will go through this experiment, as well as other similar situations. It has nothing to do with God or any other deity... It is a psychological response which all of us are capable of achieving if we are placed under likewise situations... seriously people read a fucking book.
This movie is very much based on Zimbardo's Stanford Prison study. People who are interested in why people do what they do will find this movie interesting. Those who study psychology or sociology could find it a great topic of discussion with peers. Also, those who are interested in the non-fiction version of the study can find tons of info online now, but I strongly suggest that you see Zimbardo's talk on TED where he links his prison study to other prison atrocities including at Abu Graib.
This film, as many (like Shutter Island), is a metaphor for the human condition as dictated by the Gods (as in those watching from above). We all make a deal to incarnate into this prison we call life. We are either the oppressors or the oppressed. After we stuggle, love, and most of all fight, we are then released back into the abiss w/ payment in hand to be who we once were. The movie is trying to say that this life is just an experiment, and that in the end, we will ALL be rewarded :)
@sralmy. Movie is nothing to do with god or life or rewards at all, it's based around an experiment conducted by Philip ZImbardo who tried to recreate prison life and the film shows false advertisement within the papers, the real advertisement did not say it was safe and it was only $20 a day.
Zimbardo got engrossed in the study and idly stood by as men were abused and their individuality taken away from them, some of the participants that were prisoners needed treatment. NO GOD INVOLVDED
@Chrisandlaurasittin1 wrong... its about zimbado trying to show that people will conform to any orders when told to, and to see how far they will go not just to simulate a prison. Ive been studying this film in uni. and its no $20 a day its $1000 for 2 weeks.
@Chrisandlaurasittin1 Are you really this dense? Telling people how it has nothing to do with god, and that is based on a damn experiment? We already know that smart guy. Havent you read the former posts? Your saying nothing new here. What I was referring to was what it was a METAPHOR for, not what it was based on. BIG HUGE DIFFRENCE dumb ass. If you dont know what a metaphor is, google is right at your your fingers. Other then that, please dont write back. Your opinion is worth little to me.
@donte957 Really? Thanks. Actually, I think many people can, like the writers of this movie for instance. Trying to tell the rest of us (like my friend above ;) that this life is nothing but a dream of sorts, and that this world is infact not the reality, but rather "the experiment" ;) And if I were to take it further, I'd say we're all individual incarnations of moments in time (like when u were born), and we're here to experience this reality on behalf of that moment. :) Peace friend
the exact same movie was made in germany before 2010.........it was also called "das experiment", with actor moritz bleibtreu, so is this just a remake?
jeez was this based on the zimbardo psychology experiment? it has the shaven heads, numbered uniforms, fire extinguishers.. looks really good. shows how power can corrupt human behaviour.
@Holowachuk erm, well yes it has the same name. but that film looks silly and created for 'horror effects'. this movie is more realistic because there was a real experiement which took place in the 50s/60s and some of this did really happen.
I thought this was a very good film. Considering both Forrest Whitaker and Adrien Brody have won the Acadmey Award for Best Actor, I'm amazed it was as low-key an affair as it was.
I highly doubt that a school did this since the government has been known for these things such as the CIA and black operations, I dont know what Joshua2019 means by school, unless he means scientists or some shit which is probably controlled by the government... If I was in 77s place, I wouldve killed that guard for what he did to the diabetic guy..
@FunkyBiRDFilms The study was indeed conducted by a school. A college to be exact. Stanford University. Look it up. This1971 study has always been discussed in Psychology courses, and mentioned in Psyc textbooks because of the fact that this study became controversial since it got out of hand. People were actually tortured and everything.
@addictedtors24 The entire actual experiment was filmed, so you can't ague with recorded history. The study was conducted by a team of researchers lead by TENURED PSYCHOLOGY PROFESSOR, PHILIP ZIMBARDO ... AT STANFORD UNIVERSITY. The purpose of this study ( "STANFORD PRISON EXPERIMENT" ) was to discover the psychological effects of becoming a prisoner or prison guard. The treatment of the "prisoners" was f***ed up for sure, but history is history.
@Survivorgal yes but you said it was conducted by " a college to be exact" no college had anything to do with it, the experiment was underneath a university that didnt even know was happening below, it wasnt an actual prison it was stanford university
@addictedtors24 If you read my earlier posts, I never said it was a prison, and that it was conducted at a college. The name of the study was called, "Stanford Prison Experiment" since the Stanford study was in a prison setting. That's why they call it a "mock prison."
@Survivorgal you said conducted by a school, a college to be exact i can read... i was correcting that only bit you said your bringing other things into it for no reason...
@addictedtors24 You mentioned, "it wasn't an actual prison it was stanford."--I never said anything about it being an actual prison, which was in my last post. There's strong evidence on where and how the study was conducted, so there's nothing to be corrected. ALL colleges/ universities with a Psyc dept. conduct studies--some more major than others....some with more groundbreaking results than others. It's inevitable. Accountability becomes vague when the sh*t hits the fan.
It's not a German movie remake. Anyone who studied psychology or have taken some psyc courses knows that this movie is loosely based on the 1971 prison experiment conducted at Stanford. One dead giveaway besides the mock prison theme is that the experiment was supposed to last 14 days but only made it to day 6--same in the movie, as in the actual experiment.
i love how every time i look up this movie, some douchebag says its a remake, and its horrible. Well, okay ? The movie is alright, same with the old movie, and i bet the actual thing was horrible. Like, actually think about this? This is sick in the mind.

The film is similar to the situation of the Muslims. How Israel can control the situation. If you came in the context of the Israeli attack on the Muslim population of America does not intervene. And the red light glows. . But when Muslims tried to respond. Interfere with America and there is much ado

The film is similar to the situation of the Muslims. How Israel can control the situation. If you came in the context of the Israeli attack on the Muslim population of America does not intervene. And the red light glows. . But when Muslims tried to respond. Interfere with America and there is much ado

This seems to be based very heavily on the Stanford Prison Experiment in the 1971 that lasted all of five days. Will most likely see it.
