Let me tell you something about Rickson Gracie: excellent fighter and even better jiu-jitsu fighter, BUT his vanity makes him increase his salary to an astronomic values. Sometime he said that his payment must be "the double" of any fighter...Oh Rickson, come on! In the past, when there was fights between styles (karate x judo, karate x jiu-jitsu...) he was the best. But, in today's MMA he would be killed in his first match....Thats the real story of Rickson Gracie.

Every figther has a phase, Rickson was the best in his phase. When someone says he was figthing against inexperiented fighters, what do we mean? He changed the history of Martial Arts in all world after Japan Open Vele Tudo and the first UFC (Actually first UFC was an idea of Rorion Gracie). If we have more skilled fighters today, we have to thank Rickson and Royce, and the Gracie Family for the great difusion of BJJ. At least we have to respect them for that.

Technically speaking he is perfect in a period of MMA where we had style vs style. Rickson doesn not need to prove anything else, he was good when nobody was there to prove to be better. Rickson would beat the shit out of Sakuraba. I can't even see that fight going past the first round at all!!!! Not to take anything away from Sakuraba, he's a great fighter, but when compared to the Knowledge that Rickson possesses, Sakuraba just wouldn't stand a chance. Royce beat Sakuraba by decision and he's not nearly as good as his brother.

Royce's prime was in 93-94, by the time he fought Sakuraba he was past his top form.He threw in the towel because of a broken foot which his corner would not allow him to continue. And the last fight, if you actually saw it I do not see where steroids would help him much on that night? He won the decision by having better technique than Sak and out thinking him. As for Rickson's return, the man is almost 50 years old and has not fought in 8 years. In their primes = Gracie, now = Gracie still.

Steroids add not only to strength but to reflex and quickness. The biggest reason you see baseball players use it is not because of the power, but because it increases bat speed.

that plays a major factor in every fight. including the last with Saku.

Make excuse or not Royce cheated to win. He dishonored himself. Though i'm not like many others. His family's name is not tarnished by his individual actions.

Sakuraba beat 4 gracies in the past, and they are all either choke(reffery stops), or towel thrown in.

But anyway, it will be such great fight between Rickson and Sakuraba.
