Very true I'm taking lessons my self on MD 500's turbine helicopters not for work or anything merely for fun! Planning on getting a used chopper after the school. My brother is a Helo mechanic and pilot so money will be saved on that end, LOL!
BTW! Just DIY a much cheaper home cockpit to play or practice on for much much less. Search google etc. There homemade cockpit sites and forums who would love to help and point you in the right directions needed for a home build.
@TheUnsolvebleProblem Well, with drooling gum-sucking stick-wankers like these you never can be to sure. Next thing you'll find one wrapped up around a traffic pole.
"If you can pull some serious maneuvers.." Yeah, I'll give you some fuckin maneuvers - get a real license! Or on second thought, get some professional help!
Its custom made so it depends on the options, this one cost us approx 20k to make. 6 computers 6k, 4 touch screens 2k, 4-6 tv screens or monitors 4k, motion platform 8k. Labour costs maybe 10k we'd charge. If you brought from a big company (mentioning no names) they'd probably charge 250k.
Umm that's nearly as much as a used Robinson (real helicopter) and some lessons. Sorry blokes I'll stick to my "real" lessons with a real helicopter. A despite what anyone says a sim does not even come close to the feel etc. Of the real thing.
Save your money people and get into a good helicopter training class. Sure its hard and a bit pricey, but damn best fun you'll ever have!
Where did you get all the devices to create your flight simulator?

Rather than spending $20,000 to make a simulator, I would just buy a real helicopter and take flying lessons.
