i was wondrin since both of these ladies were bi, did they ever get it on,esp when they worked on one film i guess i will find out in the kay bio i am reading, thanks for the wonderful tribute.
she could be rather classified as colored not white in our South Africa these years..in cinemas for colored people she was an heroine to all of them ladies
I think I just answered my own question. Perhaps pre-code movies were not usually shown on television precisely for that reason. I'm not sure, but I would love to see them today. Kay Franscis, Lillian Roth and so many other greats of the 20's and 30's. It would also be nice to see the silents as they were shown then in all their glory, and some tinted with color, too! Buster Keaton would be a great treat for the little ones - he was so funny!
She is unjustly forgotten by many, which is so unfortunate, because she had such beauty and talent. Wonderful job as always. I'm sure Kay is smiling down from heaven.
I haven't seen a Kay Francis film since my late teens and it was a real trip down memory lane to watch (and rewatch and rewatch!) your wonderful video. Thanks for a great posting.
Another pretty tribute of yours! This is a nice song you chose too. I've never heard of Kay Francis but I'd like to see some of her films. Any recommendations?
Thank you! Kay was in some of the very best pre-codes. My favorites are One Way Passage (1932),Jewel Robbery (1932) (both with William Powell),Mary Stevens MD (1933), I Found Stella Parish (1935), Confession (1937)and Give Me Your Heart (1936).
Trouble in Paradise, 24 Hours,Girls about Town, Jewel Robbery, One Way Passage,The House on 56th Street, I found Stella Parish, Mandalay, Stolen Holiday, My Bill, In Name Only, It's a Date

She played strong, independent women when that wasn't the norm. She was a tremendous actress.
