you cant train your bird to not fly away you have to clip its wings. it is not harmful to the bird, it's not something that will hurt them. most birds you see on youtube that just sit there with its owner have clipped wings so they cant fly around and make a mess. ask a pet shop about clipping wings :] hope this was helpful

My parakeet loves to sit on the fireplace grate (when theres no fire of course!!) and I put some toys next to him and he likes throwing them off and watching me pick them up and putting them next to him again so he can throw them off again.
