  • Fuck me ! They are better live brilliant

  • @walkerth58 - it is quite obvious the audience are ALL AROUND the stage. No band would play with their backs to the audience. And you have obviously never seen Crowded House perform - they won a Q award for best live band back in the day, and just get better every year. Neil Finn is introverted? Split Enz?

  • problem being.... crowded house was a group of introverted men who did not manage the crowd, praising their efforts! Lead singers back is to the crowd! .. and in many other videos! Therefore introverted men who do not respect, those who respect their efforts, often commit suicide. This is the case of their drummer! Sorry men have to say the truth!

  • tight band, so professional, better than most bands.

  • DAMN! i've watched this video so many times, it's not even funny, and i've never tired of it! freakin bad ASS rockin stuff. thanks so much, dankx75 again for sharing this!

  • The first scatches give me goosebumps.

  • always love listening to these live songs with Hessie singing those great backgrounds :)

  • this guitar... seems like it's made its rounds! i swear Neil was playing the same one in Austin on Aug. 4th 2010. looks EXACTLY like this one, and even a bit more used looking than the 1996 Farewell concert. i could be wrong, but... wow!

  • that looks like the same guitar Neil is playing during the '96 Farewell To The World concert, though a bit more beat up in '96 than it looks in this video.

  • What is in the keyboardists mouth

  • @sgtticklesworth prollly a vocoder like ffighters use on the song Generator.

  • what can you say....neil finn is a musical genious!!!

  • i've said it before, i'll say it again... FAT BASS!!! NICK!

  • Crowded House

    Betty's Bunch

    Jonah Lomu

What nation has added more to the general well being of the world?

  • @ady10001 neil finn: from new zealand, moved and settled in melbourne

    nick seymour: from melbourne

    paul hester: from melbourne

    CH = australian band. sorry!

  • hell yeah rockin their asses off!!! that bass line is FAT!!!!!!!! Nick is spot on, baby! :-)

  • Look at that. Hessie, Nick, and Neil rocking their asses off.

  • @WhatDaSausage

I just heard it too--my god they ripped it up. Epic!

  • One of their best!

  • BRILLIANT

  • brilliant

  • is this concert on dvd anywhere?

  • The great Nick Seymour on bass!

  • Like Hester did, I suffer from Depression. I know how powerful a force it is. I wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy.

  • Thanks for this insight har9020. Very well said.

  • Thanks. Those of us "in the know" know to not make light of the big D. Author William Styron suffered from D for most of his life. He said the word "depression" was a misleading term. He said when you suffer from it you're not really "depressed" -- you're INSANE. Right on, there, buddy. It is a form of insanity. Many Depression sufferers who kill themselves don't do it because they hate themselves but because they love themselves. Dying puts them out of their misery. A mercy killing.

  • you have a way with words ma brother

  • I love his jacket - where can I get one?

  • Its made by the bassist Nick Seymour (I think)

You'll never be able to find it anywhere (I think) ;)

  • 1980

  • I lived in Te Awamutu for a little while, nice town

  • I was in NZ for a wedding a couple of years ago and I went to see the True Colours exhibition in Te Awamutu. It was a highlight of the trip.

  • I don't remember a truly sacred ring... I do recall a truly enormous furniture warehouse.

  • Rock Arena 12/12/1986.

  • Gosh I can't get enough of the Crowdie boys!

  • Fantastic band, The Beatles of the 80's...

  • So you're saying they are phonies because Paul Hester suffered from depression. This may come as a shock to you, but people don't tend to voluntarily choose to suffer from depression.

  • you are 100% correct and walkerth56 since you clearly don't understand that, you should keep your comments of a deceased person to yourself

  • i love how they were so great back then and still are!! i saw them live a few months back and they were just as excellent!! totally lived up to all expectations!! and didnt let us down at all!! overall they are great live~~ go see them if u get the chance!!

  • I agree. I saw them in Atlanta and they were so great! (Even though Paul is gone)

  • he lookes like a damn mop.

    regardless this song is awesome

    :)

  • live, their better than the albums.

    no comparison...

  • Where the heck is New Zealand?

  • oh my god I was at that and I am the super dag in the green fender tshirt in the front would so love to see the whole thing!!! oh to be 17 again!! Not!

  • genial!!!

  • It's Eddie Ranyer of Split Enz

  • That's not froom on the keyboard is it?

  • No, it's Eddie Rayner of Split Enz (Neil and Tims old band).

  • This song is about a real incident where a female fan from California flew all the way to New Zealand to meet Neil. He agreed to meet her at a Hotel Bar and, as you can tell from the lyrics, it kind of freaked him out.

  • Really? Gosh, that's rich.

  • Aw this is such a great song! So much fun.

  • was this after the first record, but before temple of low men?

  • Yep, that's right. Temple of Low Men was released in 1988.

  • This is the first song of their first CD simply called "Crowded House" released in 1986. The album content: World where you live, Don't dream it's over, Something so strong and more..

  • They were such great craftsmen of songs and yet they could ROCK when necessary. God bless 'em!

  • he can sing just as good as on cd

    crowded house rock

  • Neil looks so...POAW!

  • Great song, Thanks :)
