Mr. Parenti needs to do further research. If he does, he will see that the 15 year old Tenzin Gyatso inherited the 'feudalism', and was attempting to change and reform this. But the PRC came in, like the Qing, to 'liberate' Tibet and bring it into the 'golden empire' just like their predecessors. The PRC may not have had a 'large army' when they invaded, but tanks and automatic weapons versus bolt action and flintlock rifles often make for a pretty one sided fight... Po Rangzen.
