  • I wondered awhile ago whether Asashoryu built up his strength using performance enhancing drugs. To my knowledge, he's never been formally accused of it, but if you go back to 2002 or 2003 and look at his body and his sumo style, you cannot help but notice the vast difference in strength comparing him from that earlier time to the fearsome powerhouse that he became. Maybe he did it from hard work, training and bulking up with food and nutritional supplements. We probably will never know.
