Hello to all IOWAS I hope all can rebuild your homes soon usa goverment needs to help out 100% i will be their soon to help;i heard lots of people are from out of state; to work it would be nice if Iowa,cedar rapids could give us a place to live and food;we are working free;
"Hey New Orleans... Take note. No loitering. No chaos. Watch this city rebuild. Neighbors helping neighbors. Great Video! Cedar Rapids will be better than ever. "
I am from Marion and I've been downtown everyday this week to volunteer (21 hours so far) and it is just too horrible for words. It brings tears to your eyes to see the place you grew up and drove on those roads everyday to be COMPLETELY underwater. UNBEARABLE.
i live 5-10 miles from this mess i live in marion iowa this is messed up and gr8cfce we will thx for the support im 14 and i really wanna sand bag also :P the house my mom grew up in is under water and i just wonder wat this will do to our enconemy gas is gonna be like $4.00a gallon soon ty lady of maine adam same here im glad u dont have to live in the disaster my like so many of my moms friends thank you all for your suppor and im sorry for your friend adam and every1 else effected by this
I actually used to work at that DQ about 3 years ago. It it absolutely sickening to see it like that now. My prayers to everyone affected by this horrendous event. However, we WILL stay strong and we will rebuild and stick together as a community. Water cannot take away this city's pride or ability to help one another, we're going to pull through this!
Yes, and love the outsiders and their money. Money is coming in from NY, LA, and beyond. Because without their money this place is done. Also, love your beloved Congress and Senate; they just approved 2.5 billion for Iowa. They are also outsiders. Spread the word.
I really do not love GEORGE w, BUSH; he has our country in a big down ward mess;the rich are doing well; the middle class,and the poor are really hurting; iam from michigan so many jobs loses here; people losing their homes; i will be their soon to help re build demolation work dry wall and painting; i will pray for all people their; stay strong; crack kills many people
Our house is about 3 blocks on the left as the video starts (as near as I can tell) we were about one block from being evacuated. Thankfully we are uphill a bit and didn't suffer any damage. Only about 6 hours with no power. My heart goes out to all who were in the bad areas, because most of them lost EVERYTHING. Very surreal to see this happening where I live. My hometown of Anamosa (25 mi NE)is flooded as well, but most of the town is uphill from the worst of it.
Yeah, I almost didn't drive down there because I didn't want to contribute to the traffic problem. But then I decided that people need to see this, and the pictures being shown don't really show the full extent of the damage.
This is the most comprehensive documentation of the scope of the flood I have seen. Most of the media coverage only shows downtown, Ellis, or Time Check.
I sat here absolutely mortified as you showed neighborhood after neighborhood under water. As if there were no end to it.
I survived the CR flood of '93, but that pales in comparison.
Yes, let us give thanks to all the outsiders sending in millions. Let us begin a new love of outsiders and cease our provincialism. Millions pouring in from all 50 states. Congress and Senate just approved 2.5 billion for Iowa. Let us invite the good outsiders in, cause without them this place is done.
Hello iam with you 100% millions of Dollars.from all 50 states;FEMA should be their 100%; people need food housings, medical treatment; iam coming their to work soon; July12,13, 2008 i hope the state treats me and others good; for working free; Margraveshistoricconstruction@yahoo.comfrom michigan GODBLESS all their;
You're working for free? You don't have to, especially if you are a professional contractor. FEMA and the town representatives will point you in the right direction. If you're coming to Cedar Rapids you should register at the Westdale mall. Good luck.
I wish all man kind luck; pray for all crack heads; and drunks;LOT OF PEOPLE TOTAL LOST; GOOD WOMEN ALSO SO FAR GONE PRAY FOR THEM ALL; ALSO YOUR SELF' god IS OUR LIGHT OF THE WORLD; HAVE FAITH AND BELEIVE. PEACE TO ALL

There is a strong possibility that my mom lost her house and we live in the 500 year plane. I can just see the 100 year plane.

Yeah. I went there at 5 AM before anyone else would be there, and I did it in hopes of making less people go down there, because they might see this.

i was down there earlier today and it has got a lot worse.....this doesn't even show the full extent of the damage.

The difference between this and New Orleans is that this is how half the state looks right now.
Iowa City is going to get hit just as bad as this next week, so PLEASE come help sandbag if you live in that area!

I know you are driving down the interstate at highway speeds and the destruction is comprehensive. Cedar Rapids & all Iowans will recover!
