The first is cleaning, a good sandwich press should never be cleaned! - But the other reason is for speed in cooking. I think for this to work you would have to do three 45 degree turns at roughly four minute intervals. In which time I could have boiled and eaten four cobs. I do like your suggestion and in no way mean to shoot it down. Respect yo corn!

@JanMetabolic Good choice on not taking up the cigarettes! - I won't lie, I love smoking but I do honestly want to quit... It's insanely fucking hard to kill the habit. My entire social circle smokes so they're always around me. It's not so hard when I'm home alone, but once I'm out and about I'm like a fiend for them!

Corn on your press:
1. Get un-shucked corn, don't shuck it yet.
2. Submerge it in water, ten minutes is plenty.
3. Towel or shake off the water on the outside of the leaves so as not to flood your press.
4. Onto the press for four minutes, or however long you feel good about.
5. Rotate ninety degrees and repeat the time in step four.
6. Remove from press and shuck it like a man.
7. Use the leaves/silk as a handle, why dirty a plate that will just have to be washed?
8. Enjoy!
