Il a fini sa très grande carrière à Montréal. Rozon (festival de l'humour de Montréal) l'a invité à plusieurs reprises. Pas parce qu'il était un humoriste, mais bien parce que toute son oeuvre nous a donné de la joie de vivre. Bravo Rozon, pour ça! C'est le plus beau jour de ma vie, j'ai retrouvé mon chapeau... :O))
Ich beschreibs mal auf deutsch: Ein toller Künstler, ein tolles Lied und ein tolles Orchester ! Einfach toll ! Auch wie die Gäste zum Schluss die Blumen werfen; einfach Kult, das ist für mich schöne, alte Musik :)
Very much how I remember him from 1983, I seen him sing, we invited him out to a club and to our surprise he later showed up at the club on St Catherine St, he was quite elderly but as sharp as a tack and still had a great voice although not as strong as from what I hear in his prior years. Such a nice gentlemen he was, he never said a thing about my terrible French. It was a gay bar but I'm not sure if he was gay or he just didn't care? He seemed to enjoy himself as did everybody else with him.
@abfabinri this clip is from his 80th anniversary concert in 1993, so when you've seen him he was 10 years younger...still he remained a great performer almost to the very end of his life, I saw him perform in Brussels that same year and he was in a class with the angels, marvellous!he was most definitely gay and I hope he had a great time , yet somhow with trenet I always suspect that the public happy go lucky demeanor was hiding enough sadness to last a lifetime ...
