CC wants to use the new film to introduce the X Files to a new generation.
He has said that it is stand alone, so people who have never seen the series will follow no problem, but that there will be certain things in the film relating to the series (small things) for X Philies

yep ! coz the finale of the ninth season was... unfinished ! hope the film will solve it but a season 10 would have been great !
