And to be honest. It might actually have been SEGA themselves who fucked this whole VA thing up. Yes it was perfect after SA2 and felt like the characters had been given their true identity and characteristics by their voices. But it was SEGA who chose to boot the original cast over the 4kids cast, and even though, Deem Bristow (eggman) died shortly after. It might have changed things too, even if the 4Kids cast didn't present.

I'm wondering why he's not doing the voice anymore. Did they fire him? If so, why now? He's been doing the voice for years. Did his contract expire? This also brings up the question of why the rest of the cast left. If it was contractual then that makes sense. That would also explain why Mike Pollock is staying, because he's one of the studio execs, or so I've heard. Meh, maybe they just thought it was time for a change

@bombermanp978 That's what I thought. It really makes the most sense. Still, I like Jason Griffith. He was probably my favorite Sonic voice. I have, however, heard the new voice cast, and I think most of them sound great! Roger Craig Smith still gives Sonic that cool, slightly cocky demeanor. He sounds older too. Same with Tails. I've been saying I think they aged the characters by a couple years. Time for a fresh start I guess. Besides, Sonic Colors looks awesome

I love Jason Griffith as both Sonic and Shadow. I think Roger Craig Smithi s a great replacement but I'll always prefer Griffith just a tiiny bit. And he's a hundred times better at Shadow that Kirk Thornton.

Technically it's Sega's doing. The cartoon doesn't have anything to do with the games and Sega just thought it would be smart to recast everyone. So yea, 4kids sucks, but the final decision was with them [Sega]. :/

And I agree. I mean, I don't like Griffith as Sonic either, but there is no reason to hate on him as a person. Could you imagine taking over someone else's job and the weight that you have to carry with that?

Griffith perfromance in Black Knight was equal to, if not slighty better, suited to Sonic than Drummond by the end of his tenure.

People wont admit that Drummond never improved as Sonic since SA:DX, you hear him in heroes and he just seems to have lost the passion.

In the 5 years Griffith has been Sonic, his work has improved greatly, something that never did happen with Ryan, who was told he was good after SA:DX then seemed to not put in as much effort afterwards.

Matt Groening almost had to let go of the original futarama cast because he couldnt meet thier salaries however the cast is staying anyway out of love and respect for the show.

Absolutley. Sean Schemmel, for example, played Black Doom in the game "Shadow the Hedgehog" and still talks about how utterly painful it was for his vocal cords. Somebody asked him at a convention, "If the role was so painful for your voice, why did you take the role?" He replied, without a second of hesitation, "Cause I wanna eat." Voice acting can be a very financially profitable career, but anime voice acting NEVER is--it's the lowest-paying field of voice acting (if you go by union scales).
