Wow! you know what? We have something in common! I love Qualatex brand balloons too and they're awesome! I love Qualatex balloons of almost all sizes and shapes especially the 260's long and skinny and 350's long hot doggy airships besides the round ones. Mmmmm. Actually for people like myself who loves balloons are called "balloon fetish or balloon fetishist." There is absolutely nothing wrong with that. I don't care what others think of us. We should be proud of who we are! Right on!
Cool video :) and no you arnt to old. I have AS as well and I still like toys and getting candy for Easter and Halloween ect. Balloons are cool too :) it's fun to let them go up in the air.
It's your right to collect balloons if that's what you enjoy doing regardless of age. It suggests that you have a cheery disposition. I wear cat ears even at college! But perhaps a balloon is not really your dad's ideal birthday present. I can imagine that many Aspies find it difficult to understand that their ideal birthday present might not be so pleasing to the other person - usually people encourage them to treat others the way they would like to be treated.
Wow!! I thought I had some kind of problem I kind of like them too and getting too old for balloons, but don't you even think of making give them up, I love my balloons!
Thanks for sharing your story and enlightening us about AS. I can tell that you're a very creative, intelligent guy and making this video was probably very important to you and your family. It reminds us that we're all unique people and what makes us different should be celebrated.

all of us like many diffrent things. i like balloons and romote controlled toy cars and trucks. im also too into radios , flashlights and inflatables such as rafts that you use to lay down on in a pool i sleep on them on the floor just for the fun of it. i just like it and simply cant get enough. but it dosnt bother me on how other people think about it. dont let them get to you.
I usually blow them up with helium then when they die I cut them and throw them away. Every now and then I'll blow some up with air and decorate my room with them--then after a month or two I'll cut them. I still have the 16" clear spray I blew up at the beginning.
You remind me of my girlfriend, she doesn't have the same problem as you but when i look in every photo she's in she has one, and i love the reaction i see when i get her them, i haven't tried getting normal helium ones, but im gonna try soon and this video has inspiried me :)
boy, do I know how you felt. I went through what you did to a lesser degree though.but I like the huge balloons, I buy what I can once in a while, over the months and years they piled up. the range of sizes I have start at 22 inch and up to the biggest weather balloon.
Balloons are fun. Some people like Hummel figurines, some people like dolls. You have the right to like whatever you want to, nothing wrong with that.

Do you just blow them up and keep them around or pop them after a while? Pretty soon you wouldn 't have any room left in your house if you didn't!
