  • elbows don't lead the move your shoulders and lats do

  • This move should be done from the elbow-they lead the move, and they are the hiest poin of your arm in the end of the move. Also alternating palms towords ground help isolating laterar potrion of delts.

  • he is 100% on steroids

  • The TSCHHUT Brah right dere

  • not bad but i would reccomend a bit more of a bend in the elbows

  • Shoulder blades pinched = shoulders back? not up or down, just stand tall and shoulders back?

  • 0:52 his back is so ripped, it looks like he has a second butt crack

  • 0:13 orgasm

  • No point being ripped when you are only 5'9. No one will take you seriously. Only guys 6'0 and above look legit when ripped.

  • @godanselmo Bullshit

  • @GetStupidnr1 You're only saying that because you're not 6 ft.

  • @godanselmo Bullshit

  • @godanselmo wtf are you on about !!!

  • @godanselmo phil heath is 5'9" btw

  • @godanselmo - Does it really matter what height a person is? Anyone can be ripped for personal benefit, not just to wow idiots like you. There is NO legit way to look. It's dumbasses, like yourself, that throw these lame ass STEREOTYPES out there that make no sense. Maybe your just jealous? Either that, or your just too fat and lazy to actually work-out and become ripped.

  • @Deltoraxus I don't have to get ripped, and it soundsl ike I struck a chord? you must be short, it's pointless being ripped.

  • THIS INTRO IS LOUDER!!!

  • you look like shit

  • I really don't like scott and the way he works out. I clicked on this video by accident. Half your vids are wrong form and I think your muscles are exaggerated from the fact you have no fat, but you really aren't special or even fit to teach others how to lift.

  • @DylanTheMutant how about you show your ways then let us judge if your better than scott... instead of talking shit or judging people that they are not fit to teach others, better show something better instead giving retarded comments like what you are doing ^^ u should do more research about this guy as well.

  • What is the differences between doing Dumbbell Should press vs Lateral Raise? Do they both target same area and would it be redundant for me to do both?

  • lol, this hits medial delts more than anything wtf scott? good luck getting traps and rear delts from this guys haha

  • Just as always, missing the whole point because of snide remarks. Typical!

Ever heard this one-"It`s the message, not the messenger."(to paraphrase).

    Good vid, showing good form.

  • Brad Pitt has the most proportioned rear delts i've ever seen !

  • your videos are better than scooby n six pack shortcuts ;)

  • yea allright we know it tsss tsss......

  • thanks

  • This guy's ripped, but he looks like a fuckin tool.

  • @kkct7 what do you mean by a tool?

  • @kkct7 you mean like a fucking queer!

  • @kkct7 its because he's a model lol

  • @kkct7 What do you mean he looks like a "tool"? I don't get that term haha....

  • @rsmagedark39 an idiot.

  • @NikiHunwick He looks normal too me, why exactly do people think he looks like an idiot?

  • @NikiHunwick Sorry if I sound ignorant..

  • @kkct7 the reason he looks like a 'tool' is because he is natural. Bodybuilders who take hormones/steroids get their faces changed so it looks broader and especially the chin gets thicker. Anyway, I think this 'tool' would easily rip you apart if you came trying tooling with him... ignorant american.

  • Scott puts these video's on as a source of information, not for people too come on and rip holes in them, his routine obviously works for him by checking his physique, his exercises may not work for everyone, as like i said, its information on how to get in shape, i have taken many of the exercises on board and i am feeling and seeing major benefits compared to my old routine.

    Thanks Scott, keep em coming!!

  • i think you forgot to edit out getting buttraped at 0:15

  • speach? anyone ever complain about you spelling? correct spelling = speech

  • @SeattleEye it's a wonder how people misspell things anymore. spellcheck is only a few menus and a click away...

  • TSCHTSCHTSCHTSCHTSCHTSCHTSCHTSCHTSCHTSCHTSCHTSCHTSCHTSCHTSCHTSCHTSCHTSCHTSCHTSCHTSCHTSCHTSCHTSCHTSCHTSCHTSCHTSCHTSCHTSCHTSCHTSCHTSCHTSCHTSCHTSCHTSCHTSCHTSCHTSCHTSCHTSCHTSCHTSCHTSCHTSCHTSCHTSCHTSCHTSCHTSCHTSCHTSCHTSCHTSCHTSCHTSCHTSCHTSCHTSCHTSCHTSCHTSCHTSCHTSCHTSCHTSCHTSCHTSCHTSCHTSCH

  • @Kolagem Yes.This guy is ridiculous....TSCHHHHHHHHHHT hahaha!

  • @Darbukarlitos1 he sure is but has too good tips for exercise :)

  • @Kolagem Yes.Follow their tips but please don´t do.....TSCHTSSSSS!!! hehe ;D

  • Lateral Side Raisers work the anterior-middle deltoid & supraspinatus. These are used for abduction of the shoulder ie lateral side raise. Not the trap and posterior deltoid. (although worked minimally) when the 'arm' is extended it should be in a fully supernate position ie: elbow points up. This changes the whole exercise and really make gym rats drop the weight and focus on the delt and removes momentum from the lift. I'm a fan Scott keep up the good work - maybe you mixed up what you were t

  • normal side lateral raise are for the medial delt, if you're working the rear scott it's a rear lateral raise, which is far more effective bent.

  • this exercise makes my shoulders uncomfortably crack

  • You're so hot Scott. And you got a nice ass.

  • maybe you should work on your legs? They're really small..

  • what the hell was that at 0:15 ZZZ

  • nice one scott

  • such a fucking retard, side raises as a trap/rear-delt exercise? whats the world coming to, some school kid advising people incorrectly...

  • @ryanwegner2010 I wonder why a fitness expert as yourself would watch how to do side laterals..

  • @dehBix unfortunately i know they're done severely wrong more often than not. this is one of those cases.

  • @ryanwegner2010 this is one of those cases?? hahaha,, yeah sure expert.. i've been in more than 5 different gyms.. and all the trainers told me that side laterals should be done like scott is doing here.. so shut the fuck up.. if u wanna add more weight cuz u wanna seem rude.. thats ur problem.. after all, ur shoulders are then one getting fucked up

  • @guiyees i didn't say anything about weight. i do my dumbell raises fairly light. my point is, it's a side delt exercise, and if anything, you should lean slightly forward while doing them.

  • @ryanwegner2010

Yea, that's just no good. After your comment I went to find the correct way to do it in one of your videos but I got a "ryanwegner2010 has no videos available. "

  • @voianhemsed i'm sorry, youtube isnt one of my hobbies, i have no reason to upload videos. any lifter with a brain cell would tell you this is entirely wrong.

  • do i have to stick my arse out and make a tssss sound also??

  • I injured my rotator cuff doing the exercise this way. X-(

  • dude what the hell are you talking about?! this is for the side deltois!

  • mmm he is sexy.

  • Scott. Thanks for taking the time to help others. I find your videos very helpful. God Bless.

  • Hey Scott. I've been having trouble getting my deltoids bigger. I've been doing all of the common shoulder exercises like side lat raises military press and frontal lat raises. I dont understand. Everything else I do I'm gaining in but that one area I just cant seem to do anything. Any "good" tips? thnx

  • @brownstownclown maybe people like me and you are destined to have small shoulders...I work my shoulders harder than anything...and my chest I barely touch....chest is big delts are girly

  • He's pinching his shoulders blades together! That's just about perfect.

  • what is the use of this exercise? i mean which part of the body will get effected?

  • @ycs08 Did you listen to the video at all...? -.-*

  • notice how his supraspinatus bulges as he eccentrically loads it on the downwards portion of the set. Very impressive good sir.

  • is it okay if i do one arm at a time?

  • 1:09 look at his lower back, looks like he has 6 pack back

  • I'm sorry, what were you saying? The zoom in to those sick back muscles is distracting, tomorrow when I work on my shoulders I won't remember the instructions.

  • hey scott, i am a ectomorph, i havne quite a narrow shoulder.

does working on the deltoids make the shoulder wider?

how do i work to get my skeletons to become physically wider?

  • @top414141 maybe i can help. i'm an ectomorph too. Pull-ups are the best exercise to give your appereance a wider look. your upper back wil get wider, and that will give you the v-shape. try doing pull-ups (with palms facing forward) every other day, 3sets till failure. try breaking your previous record every week, so you will make progress. Hope you can get a little further with this info. Cheers ps. if you want to start working out, work every muscle, not only the back.

  • @VoCaLBuLaRy And if you can't do a pull-up or too few, use a chair to get up and then SLOWLY lower yourself

  • @top414141 Your skeleton won't become wider by working out. You can only add muscle mass on top of it to make it seem wider. We all have different types of bodies, my friend has a huge torso and very short legs while I'm the opposite and have a small torso and very long legs. It's just something we were born with. You'll have to embrace the fact that you have narrow shoulders, it might not help your bench press but it will help you elsewhere. For me, the dead lift is by far my strongest lift.

  • Why do you always make that "ccchhh ccchhh ccchhh" noise? It's kinda annoying especially if you're using headphones to listen to your clip (it turns into this high-pitch sound making a hole in your head.) Please don't "ch"!! Oh, and it also makes you look ridiculous (which you are not by any stretch)

  • I just can't understand why there's so many cunt complaining about the correctness of targeting. Coz obviously whoever come here to learn, everyone here are not professional so as long as it is efficient to make you bigger, just save your complaining time for exercise, there is no absolute truth in bodybuilding. I bet Arnold don't know everything about bodybuilding but who are we to doubt him?

  • I thought that this works the side deltoids.

  • tell your camera guy to stop pointing the camera at ur ass. we dont wana see that!

  • these are lat raises aren't they just differant name

  • @MrAudity haha its kind of funny but atleast he seems to be working out and looks good.. maybe he is not being very detailed about his accuracy .. i too think he targets the wrong places he is adressing .. its funny but atleast he seems to get a body with what he does ..

  • Hey guys here's a side note:

if you make sure your shoulder blades DON'T touch (instead flex your traps forward) and do this exercise, it will build your traps so much better than shrugs ever will. You won't have to shrug crazy amounts of weight (potentially dangerous) and is by far the best trap building exercise I have ever performed.

  • @twelvemonkeys12 the prob is if you are sore with your shoulders you might want to shrugg.. but shruggs target remember differently

if you had time and patience you should usually try to target your muscle in multiple ways that makes sure you actually get the fatigue you need for recovery

  • @TheRogueMonk heres the thing-- if used with proper form sore shoulders/elbows won't interfere. why? because if youre using proper form (the exercise being so difficult to do) you would be forced to use a low weight. i only use about 5-8lbs per dumbell and it simply blasts the hell out of your traps.

and agreed, i only do a max of 2 variants of this per shoulder/trap workout (standing straight and standing with back at 45 degree angle)

  • @twelvemonkeys12 sure that is what i said too..

  • @twelvemonkeys12 but i wouldnt do more then 2 veriants of an exercise to prevent overtraining.

  • That's the back I'm training for!

btw, is it neccesary that you pinch your shoulders like 0:56?

    I never did that...

  • @Fjerid see my most recent comment- by pinching them backwards it puts more stress on the shoulder and less on the traps

  • @twelvemonkeys12 Aha! Got it, thank you!

  • @Fjerid GO TO MY SITE go search bodyperformance.. steve turano.. there are WAY BETTER videos for beginners this is more advanced

  • the elbows should come up before the dumbbells

  • I thought a dumbbell raise was when the government gave republicans more money

  • very informative

  • human hydraulics

  • tsssssst!!!!!

  • @amoozza Thank you kind sir :D!

  • This exercise doesn't have to be done which much weight? D:

  • @alezzis1 This exercise should be done slowly, meaning do not use your back or momentum to lift because if thats what you need to do to be able to lift, then you need to use a lower weight.

  • wrong execution, traps should not be that involved in this exercise

  • how the fuck do you get that ripped bahhhh, thanks for the free video!

  • i really hate the way u breath out because it makes the video too loud

  • @lakerzxkobex09champs they arent supposed to do your rear lol

  • tisssss

  • I'm very surprised that SH would say that this targets your rear delts and traps. Lateral raises should primarily target medial delts.

  • @MrStartingGun lateral means sideways, he obv didnt learn that at retard school lol

  • Thanks for your tips. I use them in my own workout and they are very helpful! Keep up the good work.

  • standing lateral raises work the rear delts???????????

  • how much weight for ur dumbell each (in KG pls)

  • nice vid but couldnt you find bigger shorts

  • Not at all.. maybe lean forward a bit?

  • no they are not!!

  • I am not wearing anything.. and I have no veneers.. and you are the only person to ever complain about my speach

  • ok fair enough- it's just your accent. i have a big mouth (gets me into trouble). the vids are good- keep it up

  • awesome workout... i actually did these today at the gym..

  • AWESOME..................

  • your tricepts look huge

  • Is it more stressful on the rotator cuff to do them with the dumbells starting out in front of your hips instead of directly at your side?

  • do you think resistance band training is bad????????? or good? plz answer

  • Great! I would say...

  • Great clear practical demonstration ! Thanks for this.

  • Awesome video. My trainer never explained the shoulder blades pinched though *shakes fist*

I'm curious to know which muscles this works though.

  • shoulders.

  • shoulders, rear delts, and some traps

  • he tells you at the start of the video!!

  • i wish u didnt do the intro

  • u just showed us how to do this lets see somethin new scott cmon...jk but hey i did that shoulder workout the right way yesterday n today is the first time in prob a year that my shoulder and especially traps are really sore....keep this vids comin man they r a great help

  • I always get a goofy sneer when I do these. Can't help it.

And, of yeah, Scott is frickin' HOT!

  • I've seen this done in combination with one where you raise the dumbells up and forward (for the front of the delts, I think). So, you'll raise them forward, swing them back and down. Then raise them to the sides, swing them forward, and then down. Would you recommend keeping the two separate?

  • nice bootayy ! lol

  • Also, Nice ass. :)

  • Nice body man!! I would do many things to it, :)

  • I hate this exercise :D

  • me too.. it hurts like near shoulders and cant do a high weight for it right??

  • @super1range right .... i always leave this exercise out xD

  • whats up with those guys who work out and get that almost pot-bellied look? and i know its not fat so why does that happen?

  • v informative :)
