I keep 3 round snake shot with my 38 special. One we day prospecting we found a grotto with opening to the surface. I put my video-cam + lowed it 40 feet + we counted over 75 rattlesnakes in a 30 foot circular area. I don't look to kill them but a Mojave Green gave me no choice + U have to keep your property clear cuz of kids..

I've handled alot of Timber Rattlsnakes and havn't been bitten yet but have come damn close to it. The best thing 2 do in the wild is let it b but if it is on your property and you are protecting your kids or animals its understandable.
@MrCrotalusHorridus i was bitten by a western dimond back. it was when iu was about 10 what happend was i was exploring the moutain behind my house and i sat down on a large grannet rock but i actually sat down on a baby rattlesnake it struck my right thumb and i didnt know what to do so i ran home as fast as i could but didnt realize that the venom spreads through my body faster that way. but i reached home and was taken to the hospital on the ride there my arm begain to swell

I had gotten just a very minute amount into a cut from picking up my snake hook at the wrong end. A grumpy female rattler had just bitten it a few min before that. I had local swelling and the next morning my wrist was swollen and had minor joint pain in my wrist and elbow. Thats all the more I ever want to experience with their venom. Many times a snake will deliver a dry bite as venom is costly to produce. They would much rather conserve it. And if you know how to treat a bite, there is very rarely a danger of dying from it.

I've handled alot of Timber Rattlsnakes and havn't been bitten yet but have come damn close to it. The best thing 2 do in the wild is let it b but if it is on your property and you are protecting your kids or animals its understandable.

@tanner90080 and a numerous amount of pain was polsating down my arm. b4 i got into the hospital my muscles began to seaze up and i went into a some sort of shock were i passed out until the next day. they gave me 4 viles of anti venom and some sort of pain reliever but my hand was swollen 4 time its original size and black cericle around the 2 puncture marks i was released 2 days later and still have feeling problem in my hand do to nerve damage

I had gotten just a very minute amount into a cut from picking up my snake hook at the wrong end. A grumpy female rattler had just bitten it a few min before that. I had local swelling and the next morning my wrist was swollen and had minor joint pain in my wrist and elbow. Thats all the more I ever want to experience with their venom. Average of 8000 bites in the U.S. every year from venomous snakes usually due to some drunk idiot trying to catch one, a venomous keeper that gets careless, or someone getting to close to try and kill it. out of that 8000 an average of 3 to 5 deaths. Sounds like the odds are in your favor no matter where you live. You are more likely to die from bee stings. Educate yourself before making a dumb comment.

Many times a snake will deliver a dry bite as venom is costly to produce. They would much rather conserve it. And if you know how to treat a bite, there is very rarely a danger of dying from it.
