  • I don't know if you have been down around Lake Village, but you can get some Catfish down there so long on Trout Lines until you can lift them up by their gills and their tails still touches the ground. The problem is there are snakes down there larger than the fish. I went with a group down there and we had enough catfish to feed a school that one trip.

  • DAM where did you catch that !!!!!!???????

  • "Thanks...even though you will supposedly throw me back in...you torture me first while talkin' crap about me...I CAN'T BREATHE!!!!!!!!!!"

  • wat u use?

  • should have let him go next time he would have 30lbs but no u wrether kill him and eat him thats why fish populations or going down

  • @catfishslap trust me catfish populations are super high. It would take a miracle to kill them off. I think it was good for him to keep it. I only keep mine if they're around that size. If it was a biggun I'd say let him go though

  • u should of let him go killer

  • I found out that it is illegal to fish with bream, that is stupid. Its because its a game fish I guess. I use them anyway

  • It's legal in Arkansas but there is a size restriction. Bream under 4" can be taken by any means i.e. you can use cast net. Bream larger than 4" MUST be taken with hook n line

  • The hell is a "bream" anyways. I've heard their perch, I've heard they're a type of carp. If I catch a small fish, it's BAIT, no matter what the hell it is. lol

  • Bream is a type of perch - not a carp. In Arkansas (and most states) it's not legal to use just any small fish. Arkansas Game n Fish has a list of 'bait fish' that are legal

  • @ARKIEPRINCE Bream is another name for panfish like bluegills is it not?

  • @darkwolf919 HaHa you thought a bream was a type of carp haha dumbass !!!!

  • Yay! Missouri! :P

  • I have three different size fish traps but to be honest I catch most of my bream on rod n reel (fly rod) - and red worms (bait thieves get crickets off to easy)

I chum with range cubes - presoaked catfish feed and sinking dog food - in same area ever day and I catch a lot of bream. After I finish bream fishing - I use cast net to get some shad and shinners (they like my chum too much :(

e.g. I prefer bream and only use shad and shinners when bream are not biting fast enough

  • What's your favorite way to catch bream/batifish? I sometimes use a cast net, but more recently started using a large wire bait trap I built out of welded wire. It's great because I can set is out and let it do all the work! I copied the design of a trap sold at Academy Sports. It's about 2 feet on each side and about 1 foot tall with a funnel on each side.

I've been baiting it with tuna flavored cat food, but it seems to catch some fish even when not baited.

  • Learned to fish on Lake Conway. Use to put in at the Old Highway 89 Landing and fish the lower portion of the lake near the Palarm Creek Channel. Lots of Cats, Crappie and Bass. I loved that Lake. This was back in the 70's

  • I live near the hwy 89 landing and fish that same area. I caught my first fish out of this lake in early 50's - before the lake had crappie (and not many bass). I always lived in town but promised some day I would retire and live here e.g. now living my dream and catching all the catfish I need :) :)

  • Yes it was Lake Conway - and the next day my neighbor got a 17.5 lb flathead

(BTW: He and others catch a lot more fish than I do - and they only fish on the weekends - but they run lines near the channel and I just run a live close to my house so I can paddle home i.e. I'm lazy and others catch a lot more - such as 8 - 10 lbs - 12lb all in same night (all together one neighbor got about 18 flathead in one Month (while I got 5 catfish that same month :)

  • was that at lake conway

  • Flatheads love live bait - especially little bream - which is what I used to catch this one

  • thats a nice flathead where did you catch him and what type of bait do you use because i caught one last time on a artificial lure it was like a shad or something but it was like only 4 pounder and i always wanted to catch one like about that size so if you can help me on what type of baits i can use to catch big flatheads like that i would really appreciate it

  • what did u use to catch him?
