  • what blade and rubbers are you using?

  • @mcortezzzzzzz at the time of the video it was a Yasaka Ma Lin Extra Offensive with Haifu Blue Whale 2. but i currently use a Timo Boll Spirit with Hurricane 3

  • @GSUtabletennis I'm using the Yasaka right now

  • LOL ! :D ^^ go with little ENERgY !

  • Thank you very much! That was awesome.

  • @yungtr4 you are very welcome! i'll be putting up another one by the end of the semester hopefully if i have enough time....

  • @GSUtabletennis have you had lessons before? and how long have you been playing for?

  • @DWILLMVP1 i've been playing for about 7 years and i've taken a few lessons. but never anything long term.

  • can u make a tutorail

  • to look more lyk ma long u need to raise yr right hand higher, bend down and lean forward more, then locate yr contact point at closer to yr right chest

  • @broro100 * left

  • Do you have tutorial? please replied

  • @619619619ization i haven't had time to do a real tutorial. but i'd be glad to put one up....if enough people ask me about it =D

  • can you do the reverse pendulum serve like ma long?

  • i have a question about the fast topspin serve. do you go forward with your paddle or do you make a sidespin on it?

  • @MultiGangstershit mostly it's a sharp forward motion. you can add sidespin to it too if you want.

  • Continue:

    3) If I were to make strength and power to my wrist and finger, seems like I am unable to accelerate my wrist. Should I have power to my shoulder and forearm only leaving my wrist loose and thus able to accelerate fast for spinny service?

  • @ssiew968 very simple my friend. the whole idea is to use a loose wrist but with a quick and firm motion. the feel for serving is extremely difficult to master. even i'm not that good yet. you don't need to bring the wrist back all the way for the serves. a good follow through motion is what's needed. first work on the arm component (shoulder, arm, wrist, fingers) for the serve. get that motion short and snappy. then add the body into it.

  • I tried very hard to serve spinny service but the harder I tried, the less spinny it becomes. I was told of 3 things which I am seeking your advice:-

    1) The power should come from my legs to my waist to my forearm and then to wrist and finger. Only then I can serve very spinny ball. Question is how to do it?

    2) My wrist need to be opened till the maximum and then accelerate forward. I can see you are not opening your wrist to the maximum most of the time. Beleive not for bottom spin. Advice?

  • hi! i am a penholder. and the question is can you do the same serves here but in penhold grip?

  • @MultiGangstershit maybe...i'm not all that good with penhold grip. i can try to do a few though...

  • @MultiGangstershit of course you can

  • hi ia am a pro and have won 3 national gold medals...... i have brought 7 straight table tennis rubbers this year my blade is donic carobtech. i have tried all ur services..at first when s the rubbers new it spins as much as yours later when it loses grip it dosent spin at all...please recommend a ideal raquet and the website 2 get it...i am an offensive player......

  • @madhugonadig if you're a pro, then you should be much better than me. i'll do my best to help but i'm sure you've tried it before. DHS H3, Tenergy 05 or 64, Donic Acuda S2 or S3, Joola X-Plode, Joola Brave are all rubbers that you can try. most of which you can buy from ttnpp.com at a good price. for Joola items, try contacting your nearest dealer for that one.

  • @GSUtabletennis i call bs on madhug. a pro should know new rubbers spin better than old ones. 2nd, if you can't spin at all with old rubbers, you suck. i use old rubbers and can still take games off 2200's. It's not about the rubber condition or which blade blah blah to use

  • @17teacmrocks very true. as long as the rubber is kept in good condition (not slick) then it'll still work fine. you're a lot better than me for sure then. i can't take a game off of 2200's yet. maybe 2000s at the most. just wish i had more time to practice and such...

  • thank you for sharing good information.

  • I have one question for your seven services: where will the ball rebound after it hit my racket?

    1. Short side topspin- my left or my right?

    2. Fast Slight topspin-my left or my right?

    3. Slight sidespin-my left or my right?

    4. Short underspin-my left or my right?

    5. Short underspin (opposite side spin-short under reverse) my left or my right?

    6. Dead ball-my left or my right?

    7. Heavy side underspin my left or my right?

  • @tlfoundation ahh much better. if you leave the paddle flat and just let the ball bounce. here's where it'll go.

    1. pop up to the right

    2. pop up past the table

    3. right side maybe clip the net

    4. dives into the table/net

    5. dives into the table/net to the left

    6. small bounce off your paddle and lands on ur side

    7. dives into the table.

  • Hi I am a beginner. Would you please kindly teach me how to return all your services (from the beginning of the video to the end--I lost count how many services). I have hard time return spin services. I can watch your video and read your instruction and learn how to return the serve.

    Thank you

  • @tlfoundation Good to see someone is new to the sport! i'd be more than happy to help you with that. the only problem is that there are at least 4 different returns you can do for each serve. so technically i'd be writing a whole new paper on how to return serve. i think i'll try to make a new video on how to do return of services.

stay tuned and i'll make a new video soon!

  • @tlfoundation Side top - hit back

side spin - face the opposite of the ball that the spin is and hit it back

    side down - push it

dead ball - just normal hit back with abit of spin

    down spin - push it

  • Hi. May I know do you hold that bat tightly or loosely? I know basically people will say at first loose and then when brush the ball, make it tight. However, I noticed if I tighten my hold on that bat during brushing, my wrist can move that well and fast enough. What is your advice? Thanks.

  • @ssiew968 the trick is to get a firm grip with your fingers (secure but not too tight) and have a loose wrist. the loose wrist helps you do a smooth motion or a quick short motion. either one will give you plenty of spin and is just a matter of preference.

    hope that helps.

  • your ball should be thrown straight up, not towards you.

    it's automatic service fault

  • @rlagudgn if you ever meet an umpire who's going to be super strict then i might get called. it's highly unlikely since the toss is mostly vertical. now if the ball doesn't clear 6 inches and it moves straight back towards me, then of course you can call me on that.

  • what kind of rubber do you using in this video?

  • @MultiGangstershit at the time i was using haifu blue whale 2 permanent tension. i now use DHS Hurricane 3 provincial.

  • @GSUtabletennis Have you tried the National? I've heard it's loads better.

  • nice ;)

  • @TorresFabregas96 : why thank you, it's much harder to keep them short now....i need to practice again =(

  • what are the names in german please- send me

  • @FCKMaurice : i'm not sure i understand what you are asking. do you want the names of all the different serves? i just try to describe them by the type of spin i put on the ball such as topspin, under-spin, sidespin, no-spin.

  • just topspin and backspin

  • what is dead ball? like no spin?

  • @jkim519 that is correct! a dead ball serve is when there will be very little or no spin at all when the ball comes at you. basically you'll be able to read the writing on the ball as it goes towards you =)

  • Very nice line-up! Which serve do you consider is your strongest? (the one you'll pull out if you really need a weak return from your opponent)

  • @jamesjyu : that's a really good question. considering the people i play are a whole lot better than me now. i try to pull out the deal ball serve. since then, i've been able to disguise it with sidespin, underspin, or the dead ball. with that swing motion, i think it gives people the most trouble.

if they get past that then they deserve to win.

  • @GSUtabletennis Very interesting. When I'm in a bind, I'll usually pull out a long and fast top spin serve to the far forehand side of the opponent (if they're standing to far to their backhand side). I'm usually very good at disguising it to look like I'm about to do a heavy underspin ball to their backhand, which is the exact opposite. Works well at my level of play at least :)

I like your wrist motion technique, it disguises your serves very well.

  • @jamesjyu : well i'm not that good at the fast down the line serve =x. the wrist motion looks crazy b/c it is used in conjunction with my lower arm movement. so basically it adds to the motion.

  • great service!

  • Good serves

  • can i ask what are the difference in terms of contact with the ball and movement of the wrist in dead ball vs. underspin ball?

  • @gjairmy sure thing there buddy. the contact point remains pretty much the same in this video but the difference and most important part is the amount of brushing (spinning) action involved.

with the dead ball, you see that i'm barely making any contact on the ball (barely any underspin). but with the underspin, you see that i'm trying really hard to brush the heck out of the ball.

for me, it's going to be really hard to put a lot of wrist motion into a dead ball serve.

  • don't looks like ma long serve~

  • @PingMast lol of course it's not. i said someone from the forums requested my serve video. not that i was going to do a ma long serve.

  • Wow, really nice, almost nobody can flick those services!

    great services :)

  • @ttCrawsaive sadly, i'm afraid that people really are able to flick them....i've got bitten in the rear so many times =(

  • @GSUtabletennis this is why you learn your opponents strengths and work around them not every player has a good flick even at a top level you will find players who don't like topspin serves and some who do

  • wow.. wrist power.. very nice!

  • @GBtabletennis thank you thank you =) it's really hard though...only 60% of those serves went in during the video. it was hard trying to find the right feel and also trying to keep the bounce low and trying to keep the bounce quick.
