@C3nsoredGFX I heard of people having the same issue. I'm guessing it could be caused by the type of image you're using, try uploading a different image and then see if you can map it, if you don't get the same problem then you know it might be that first image casing problems.

@KungFuMastur yeah you should be able to become partner with no problem, but you have to make sure you don't have any copyrighted music that isn't yours on your channel. Make sure you don't have any copyright strikes on your channel. and yeah I've been reading comments on the partner forums and people are having issues with the apply buttons. I'm not sure whats up with that, you should check the partner forums for youtube, google youtube partner forums.

@KevinJrBurnstv Yes, you have to be partner to put links in a banner. and I don't think you can put a badge from a widget onto your banner even if you were a partner, you have to make it by hand and then add a link on it via html.
