  • it's not exactly "tone... and then tone again in the back". it's a bass and a treble knob...

  • whats up shaq.

  • I need that bass because in my band we play anything from metal to funk to ska.

  • i swear hes playing the opening to that seinfeld show

  • This guy plays so fast it's impossible to listen to the tone of the bass properly.......thank god I have one at home!

  • @Jakobus22 agreed... how can you tell what the sustain is like?

  • your description of: "...tone and then tone again for the back" are wrong. one is a bass cut/boost and one is a treble cut/boost

  • the greenburst finish makes me cum

  • Do you like the American made better than Tribute?

  • IT's not a Fender Jazz bass or a Music Man, the references. So sound is good enough.

  • what size neck is that?

  • I have one that i changed preamp to artec SE3P-A..

..adjust pickup to "ฺBalance Punchy" (independency adjust each pickup-pole)

  • I am selling exact bass, different color, PM me for link!!!

  • This guy is a badass. I want this bass.

  • What amp setup are you using?

  • sounds like CRAP... hated it

  • I own one! The best Bass I have!

  • are you on speed? what's the hurry reviewer? No disrespect intended.

  • well i just gotta say awsome.......... you need to post more videos but, make da music slower for us to learn thank you

  • What is the song he plays that has harmonics?

  • sounds awesome

  • They are made in Indonesia these days? I have two early 2000 E series bass guitars and both were made in the USA...

  • @rckr2000

Tribute series is import. Standard G&L is still American.

  • Holy shit

  • I'm guessing this is a USA model? I don't think the Greenburst is offered in the Tribute versions.

Still would love to have one of those though.

  • its indonesian made

  • are these passive or active?

    nice harmonics btw

  • they're passive or active, you can choose that with the first switch... there's passive, active and active with high boost... this is the original G&L they're made in USA and, 2 years ago they were also handmade... I've got the Tribute version... is great... i've tried also this bass, but the only difference is the neck and the look

  • ty

    that helped alot

  • made in indonesia thats the bad, but i tried one in the shop, and i maybe buy one. it sounds very good!

but here they costs 800 euro. bit costley

  • God....That looks amazing...I neeed ittt....

  • He's a very good bass player and his bass is wonderful !!

  • Bass, Treble and volume.. that's what the 3 knobs are for;) the back switch is the preamp selector,(passive, active and active with treble-boost) the middle switch is for series/parallel mode, and the front switch is the pickup selector! I've got one of these, and absolutely love it! I use that for my normal 4 string funkin' around, and my MM bongo 6h as my prog. bass! <3

  • You are the man!

How's about some old school R&B finger style or a deep round bass tone ala Macartney. Can this axe

    cut it?

  • i just played one of these at my local shop for 3 and a half hours. this bass can pull of ANYTHING. literally.

  • The tone controls are passive, cut-only. One for treble, one for bass. This allows the tone controls to work in both active and passive mode.

  • it's a tribute version or american?

  • Leo Fender once said the G&L Instruments where the best he ever made.

  • @viperBSG

Mah... Tried one when I was deciding whether to buy the G&L L2500 or a Stingray5 H/H... The Stingray was a better thing for me... It just didn't fit me... THe action above the pickups is way too high for me...

  • @popace actions can be adjusted so...

  • @brooklynstudio

It just doesn't feel good in my hands even with loooow action. I feel much better on my Stingray :)

  • @popace yeah I hear you on that but the pre-ernie ball mm's have fender-like necks i believe

  • @popace --but the price is x3...

    L2500 is very wide range adjustable..especially g&l pickups's..LOL

  • @xotomo

Not really... The sound isn't right for me aswell...

Spector NS-2J eats the G&L's sound for lunch - my opinion of corse, I don't want to start a flame - so don't try.

  • @popace agree..right for the price ...but not enough to perform a big big stage or serious recording

  • @xotomo

That Spector? It could perform on big stage why not? It's a over 1k€ bass guitar, so it has to be made right, right? :P

It has a african mahogany body and it sounds really smooth for that. I just love it. May be my next bass aswell :) Sounds cruel.

  • @viperBSG He was right!

  • @viperBSG where?

  • tone knobs? i thought they were EQ?

  • Maybe in passive they work as tone controls. Dunno...

  • Screw Victor Wooten. I wanna see videos of this guy playin'.
