It is through his church, Barack harnessed the understanding of the black experience in America. Where he could communicate with average blacks on a 1 to 1 level, and learn how to interact. To be honest have not yet found a Candidate that I like. I have no political affiliation so It doesn't matter what theres are, as long as there policies are what I belive in. Borders, language, and culture, is a great start. No gov. run healthcare, no abortion, no gay marraige, no amnistey ect. So who ever is the closest to the thing I believe, and is someone I think has the ability to competently run the country with out putting us in danger, thats who I vote for. I read in a research paper that his church did have a small white population that was welcomed just as much, so at least the church wasn't completely bias. The video response made by Crackrockid is very very interesting, I think anyone truly interested should give a listen to his three minutes of analysis.

I personally think Obama dedicated himself to this church knowing Wrights views of America, hoping to take the black experience in a Liberation type church, and use it as a tool to appeal to a broad spectrum of people. Couple that to being raised by his white grandparents, along with his relationships in College, and you have yourself one well rounded President of the United States.

The bottom line is, anyone with morals would've walked out of that church forever after the first time walking in. If Obama was actually disgusted with this man's behavior, he wouldn't have sat in that racist/anti-america/anti-semetic church for 20+ years, and he sure as hell wouldn't have had this man conduct his wedding.

I think most people agree that America is not perfect. That isn't the issue. The issue is this pastor preaches paranoia..HIV invented to kill off black people? He also said the U.S. runs "from the capital to the KKK." He also claimed Natalie Halloway deserve what she got because she "opened her legs." He also said that Americans deserved 9/11. Black people do not want their young children exposed to American racism the way it was back in the 50's and 60's. Yes, we can. In his speech on March 18, Senator Obama had the courage to be honest with the voters, and let them decide. Any other candidate would have disowned Wright lock, stock and barrel. However, Obama felt he had to be honest and tell America that he couldn't, even though he is running for the highest office in the land. Courage and honesty under pressure, a deep inner drive to follow the route of integrity. That's exactly what I want in a Presidential candidate. He has my vote.

Also, he didn't denounce wright at that point because he didn't want to risk losing the 90% of the African American votes that he has been getting.

Damage control would have been to disown him completely and cut the word 'Jeremiah' out of all your bibles. So why did he say that he couldn't disown him in that speech? I listened to the entire Rev. Wright sermon and he didn't say anything the fundamentalist right wingers haven't said before, that if America doesn't change its going to have the opposite of God's blessings. I listened to Wright on the Bill Moyer show and he is an intelligent, patriotic, concerned, vietnam vet. Taken out of context by news media for sensationalism.

It is through his church, Barack harnessed the understanding of the black experience in America. Where he could communicate with average blacks on a 1 to 1 level, and learn how to interact. While in college, he learned his white experience. He learned to communicate to whites in school. Now as a man running for President, he is trying to unify both under one cause with color being viewed as a difference but not a barrier. Barack is an incredible man.

To be honest have not yet found a Candidate that I like. I have no political affiliation so It doesn't matter what theres are, as long as there policies are what I belive in. Borders, language, and culture, is a great start. No gov. run healthcare, no abortion, no gay marraige, no amnistey ect. So who ever is the closest to the thing I believe, and is someone I think has the ability to competently run the country with out putting us in danger, thats who I vote for. nothing like politics to divide a country. i respect Barack, i respect his ideals, and i like his plans and initiatives. i'm sure Bush is a nice guy, but when its all said and done he was a terrible leader. I honestly think Mccain will be a continuation of the policies that have gotten America to the degraded state it is now, and i believe Obama is the best suited both politically and behaviorally to restore america.

Wright's sermons, Obama not placing his hand over his heart, wife's comments, lack of flag on his lapel, his comments demeaning the midwest values of church and right to own guns (or tradition of teaching children how to hunt) - changed my perspective of him. He does not have my values or many others like me. He already lost the election. Mainstream voters will not vote for him. I can understand black liberation theology but I do not have those values.
