A similar thing happened to me approaching Feltham crossing at 70mph with an empty train. A young man and his girlfriend squeezed through the crossing gates to get to the platform I was approaching. He got onto the platform while she was stuck on the ramp leading to the platform and hanging on for dear life to a chain link fence. There could only have been 18 inches between her and the speeding train. I hung onto that horn just to rub it in. Next time I think she'll use the bridge :)

No one bothers; everything is easy going.
But the country and travelling it by train is a great adventure I can recommend to anyone! And the train fares are among the lowest in the world!
