Como siempre, Vertigofans... parón en canciones que solo los fans suelen apreciar... una pena, porque esta canción es de lo mejorcito que hay... ¿O es que los americanos son mas sosetes?
@gilisfloyd Have they ever not played Streets? They've played it at every regular concert that I'm aware of since Joshua Tree's release. I believe the only other song in that category is One since AB's release. Streets is Larry's favorite song (and probably up there with the others) and I have a feeling that he insists on always playing it. Bono has said that it often turns so-so concerts (for them) around.
I think he was abit out of time with the others but still the note at 2:06 that he hit is amazing, i've never heard anything so rich and symphonic. Bueatful note Bono.
I was there and it was unbelievable. The crowd was very terrible though. I was singing my heart out and everyone was so quite. I didn't understand it. Anyways. U2 4 life
i think one of the reasons why the crowd didn't respond is due to the fact that they're playing for a crowd of college students that don't know their music .. if you had jay z or miley cyrus it would be different lol
people and their phones and cameras *rolls eyes* If you need to take a pic to remember it, then its not worth remembering! How could any one forget the moment they saw The Unforgettable Fire live? When I see a band live, the memory remains...with or without a photo.
I just got "The Unforgettable Fire" earlier today. It contains some of the band's most overlooked and underrated work to date. It's almost a redemptive, meditative response to their emotionally overwealming "War" ( which along with "How To Dismantle An Atomic Bomb" I consider to be my favorite of their's yet not their best) with an excellent opener "A Sort of Homecoming" (a little irony).
People watch gigs through their phones these days, haven't they heard of dancing or singing??? ZOO TV got it right - "they're coming to a gig and watching television - what more could they want?" ;-)
U2 played their best show at Croke Park this year. They always put in the most effort when they are singing at home. When i watched them Bono sang perfectly.
I was at the rose bowl to see this charade in person. Forget the voice. He had absolutely no passion. They would pump up the crowd and then he'd go off on some political view of his. ZOO TV will always be the best, but this was U2 at their worst.
@marcmar10 completely agree with you on that one. This was really the only good song of the show. It seems like the band didn't really want to evem do this show. No effort at all. I'll always support them, but this was a letdown. I stayed up until 2:30 in the morning and still didn't watch the whole thing.
I agree. Throughout this whole tour I don't think his voice has been the best, but what can you expect, he's getting old and he's been singing for over 30 years.
I agree. And somewhere I'm hoping that it will be better during the second leg of this tour. Personally, I think his voice sounded amazing during the Vertigo tour. And that's only 4 years ago.. Can't have changed that much by now.. :-)
That's the thing. I thought that he sounded pretty good during the Vertigo tour as well but when they were on Letterman before No Line was released I immediately noticed a difference. The Unforgettable Fire is a pretty hard song to sing though.
I agree. I would say that his voice sounds much more 'flat' .. if you know what I mean.. Hard to explain. And he has to put more effort when hitting the high notes. During the Vertigo tour he really felt like being in his comfort zone while singing.. Except during the ultra high notes.. That's not the case now. But maybe the combination of a lot of practice (360 tour) and a few months of rest will make his voice more energetic again... We will see
The next leg will actually be the 3rd one. By the way Bono sounded perfect for most of the 1 and 2nd leg. It seems like his voice got tired right at the end of the US leg so this particular date in Pasadena has Bono's voice not as strong as it could be. He'll be back nice and rested.
Mmm when I saw them at Hampden back in August - Bono was top notch. I think that as he and the band age, they should lengthen the period in between shows. Poor guy is ageing now - he needs a rest!
Wow!!! Kind of mindboggling to think that when this song came out good old Bono was exactly half the age he is at this performance. BTW, good show, but I could have lived without that little yelping at 3:05 & 3:15. lol

Sometimes Bono voice is not at his best when he sings live. What a pity. I love them! It's with Led Zeppelin my favourite band. This song is pure poetry.

I't somewhat interesting when you mentioned this because Bono recalled declaring the 'Popmart' tour to be their best tour ever. But I think deep down we all know and acknowledge that "ZooTV" is their best achievement brought to stage.
I'd definitely agree that Zoo TV was their greatest achievement on stage as well, but Popmart also had a certain exclusive feel to it as well. U2 always intended to have another extravaganza planned, but at the start of this decade decided to go back to the arenas again for the Elevation Tour and work themselves up to the tour we've got at the moment.
you must hear this fast rising very very original instrumental band. they feature violin, guitar and drums written and performed in a way you likely haven't heard before. also cool that they are bathed a nice greenish glow. search for "Radium Karmara"
Everyday in the life of U2 must be like an Unforgettable Fire. Amazes me how 1 band can have so much talent and so much good music to give.....music that in turn becomes engraved in our subconcious and burned in our memory cells recalling moments in our lives and when we first ever heard them.
UF, one great album, some of it still remains my favourite material from Bono and the lads. Elvis Presley and Me, (or is it Elvis Presley and America?) great track. A Sort of Homecoming, another great one. Still, it's a commentary that this track (UF) is still being done, gr8 track.
Look at some of the Joshua Tree material still standing up there. With or Without You done brilliantly when I saw them in Dublin.
The Unforgettable Fire was my very first U2 album. This has always been one of my fav tracks from it. Always considered Pride to be too "commercial"-lol. Unlike Pride, UF performed badly in the singles charts. Be that as it may, I've always supported the underdog. For me, the best U2 songs are the tracks never released as singles, or those that performed badly. The exception is the "Pop" singles. They all failed dismally, and a Bad Day at Black Rock it was for U2.
I miss Twilight, A Day Without Me, In God's Country, When I Look at the World, Peace on Earth. Especially the last two from ATYCLB. Why do they never play those great tunes..
I'm anxious to see them in Portugal next year (I have tickets). Maybe my band will be chosed to play with them that night... well, it's just a dream!... A big dream!
Amazing show! Bono loves a crowd, haha. We were luckily rockin out 2nd row on the rail outside the circle for this majestic night, my POV is in the video responses. Thank you Bono, thank you U2!
I cannot stand people who come in simply to spew forth bilge and state how much they hate the band or Bono or whatever.. Here is an idea; stay out.... there is no shortage of vids perhaps you might like????

Bono totally fucking ruined it at 3:09. A great instrumental portion and he fucks it up with his gay ass orgasmic whelps...what a fucking buffalo diarrea drinker.
"Stay in the Song" am i getting that lyric right? You are so cute Bono-singing as good as first time but I miss the longer hair....take my advice and grow out your hair a bit. face to face in a dry and waterless place, walk on by.
The most Angry U2 album is WAR. The most inspirational could be Unfogettable Fire and The Joshua Tree. Their most innovative is Achtunb Baby. The riskiest was POP. The darkest Zooropa. The soul lifting All that you can't leave behind. The most commercial HTDAAB and Back on Track NLOTH
For me, the most personal of U2's albums is October. It's raw, angry, dark, spiritual, confused and desperate yet enlightening. October is also when I first discovered the band.
I believe that The Unforgettable Fire wins in inspiration just because of the song Bad. The Joshua Tree was their best work of art ever, that album is just amazing.
Snap, Crackle and POP is what U2's music does to my brain when i listen to it. As cinematic as Bono's lyrics are their music plays on the imagination as well. Keep them songs a rolling boys.
luv u2! and especially luv this song. you just might also like this fast rising instrumental band out of washington dc. they are very very original. search for "Radium Karmara"
I'm somewhat new to U2 and currently as of now have three U2 albums: "Boy" "How To Dismantle an Atomic Bomb" and I jsut recently got "War"; and "Boy" and "War" rank amongst two of the greatest albums of all time. I'm as of now planning on getting "The Unforgettable Fire" next.

What is the meaning of this humanity?
If Christ is the reason for all of this then why must we all second guess where he is?
His timing is correct in his own understanding of time
but for his creation... we don't understand
Is this the last take on me?
So many days, so many moments, is this the one...

you must hear this fast rising very very original instrumental band. they feature violin, guitar and drums written and performed in a way you likely haven't heard before. also cool that they are bathed a nice greenish glow. search for "Radium Karmara"

Bono still sounds the same, feels like the 80"s all over again when he sings Live on this decade of generation.
