  • THANK YOU SOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :)

  • lool looks like shana paratha to me!:D

  • this is very cheap start with the dough this is paratha dont confuse people

  • This is not chapati. Usually chapati is made from finely ground whole wheat flour called atta. And chapati is usually thin.

  • thats sucks

  • for the sake of not confusing people, yes it is basically a chappati but when buttered/oiled we call it paratha, just as one calls bread a toast after it's been browned. try using light brown flour instead. much healthier than white : )

  • kkk how did you make the dough? or just showing us a paratha from the food store.

  • Hmm this is not called Chapati. This is called Paratha ( or its more like a kulcha) But whatever you made I LOVE IT. You have done is very nicely and looks yummy.

  • Tanzanian chapati originated from India years and years ago. Asian or and Persian countries were trading with East Africa way before the british came to East Africa. Asian traders introduced spices and some recipes from their countries. Tanzanians prepared the recipes a little bit different and add the African taste to it. Then we called it our own. A few of recipes we borrowed from Asia are, biriani, chapati, pilau, halwa etc. Some of this recipes differ so much from the original Asian recipes.

  • and by the way paratha is too not made soo thick unless yeast is used.. some people like yeast in paratha but most dont...

  • this isnt chapate.. this is parathaa..

  • Mambo vipi Miriam Rose and Asante sana for the great video. I was lucky enough to be in Zanzibar this time last year and went to a couple of Swahili cookery lessons in Jambiani. I really like Swahili food and I really liked the chapatis. I also loved the way you can use the dough to make fish samousa too. This is a really good reminder of how to cook the chapati Swahili style. Thanks again!

  • @jackthatcunt: it is okay like that 'cause it's a african style chapati. Not an Indian one.

  • That is no chapati that is to thick and you don't put oil on chapati you only put poo on parata

  • raj4315-first learn to address a lady politely.Don't treat everyone like you treat your mother and sisters. Miriam Rose ,please pardon this man who don't know how to behave. Thank you verymuch for the beautiful presentation.

  • Great video. Very easy to understand, and all the detail (how it should look, how much time it takes) is much appreciated. .

  • Tanzania. "Uhuru na Umoja" (freedom and unity). for a million years, they ran from the lions into the ocean and were eaten by sharks. then, they invented the "surf board" (Ngubi), their national symbol. my problem is to manage the swamps to reduce malaria (many children die in pain), and to get the rich Moslems to start sanitary systems everywhere, instead of praying and eating all day, buying weapons, and building tall cities to display their selfish wealth. - james mcashan for the US Senate

  • Perfect chapati tutorial. I missed the part about mixing the flour and water and kneading it into the dough and making it flat. Miriam Rose, you're a great teacher!.. Thanks.

  • Very nice!!! To see this is mutch better than learn it from a book, I love this, I will try this.

  • Your chapati looks really appetizing.

When smeared with butter or cooking oil, it is often called paratha.

  • @nasiwise a paratha is flat bread stuffed with butter

  • This was very helpful thank you.

  • how to make the dough stupid?

  • @raj4315 How to make the dough is in the description there's no need to be rude

  • @raj4315 the tutorial is how to COOK IT ON STOVETOP, stupid.

  • @ariesfairies, get it right stupid. It's written like this, " The tutorial is, " How to cook it on stove-top." stupid. "
