what he means is that god takes care of birds and foxes, but humans don't hear the voice of god, so they have no natural home.

There is no indication whatsoever that Jesus was speaking of the voice of God in this particular story. Luke 9:57-62.
First of all, there's nothing that says it is a sin to sacrifice lambs. Second, Jesus died on the cross so that the entire world could be forgiven. We still sin, it's everywhere, but through him we can be forgiven if we simply ask.
