hes simply strumming two strings then doing a hammer-on to another note, and if your talking about that high-pitched xylophone sound in the background, it's throughout the whole song, it's lower in the beginning then it's played at a higher note but in the same pattern. listen for yourself, and it sounds like a xylophone because he hollowed out the sound and put the pitch up[which creates xylophone noise on a guitar]
