  • Abe Lincoln freed the slaves with the sole intent of sending them back to africa because he said himself he didnt think blacks should intergrate into white society. He basically feared what...well...what is going on today. He knew the truth and the truth was two cultures and races can never, ever peaceful co-exsist.

  • is it a erectus I see here?

  • God freed the slaves not Abraham lincoln... This guy is right. Abraham Lincoln did not want to free the slaves.

  • And also Abraham Lincoln did still feel that African Americans were inferior to European-Americans. There is a good author who debates that black people are responsible for their own emancipation "There Is a River: The Black Struggle for Freedom in America" by Vincent Harding. He also makes a very good point.

  • What you're saying is true, these are quotes by Abraham Lincoln. Some historians would argue however that Abraham Lincoln knew that by declaring the Civil War a war on Slavery Northerners would not fight "for the nigger" (quote from that time) and also the border states would flock to the Confederacy. He was attempting to end slavery gradually, while maintaining the Union. There is a lot of debate of course, but I do feel that they have a valid point. There was still much racism in the Union.

  • wat abraham motive 4 freeing the slaves?

  • Wow...this is such a misrepresentation of history and taken completely out of context....

  • @jaggatorpm Yeah, actually paying attention to what he said is a "misrepresentation" of history. Yeah....OK

  • People just see what they want to see mostly.

Did you ever see the star trek episode where there were 2 races of people who were half black and half white one race was black on the left side of the body and the other race was black on the right side of the body?

Kirk and crew were trying to help them end a war but they refused and killed each other and hey were the last ones standing of their race and became extinct.

  • FYI a number of places were NOT included in the emancipation proclamation including: Lousianna, Jefferson, St. John, St James, St. Charles, Assemption Perish, Assumption Perish, West Virginia.

  • First of all Lincoln was a politician and is no different than politicians of today. Politicians including Lincoln, say things to please the majority in order to get reelected. Lincoln regarding the Emancipation Proclamation “not merely a struggle to suppress rebellion.”

  • Secondly, if you read the Constitution and legal documents from the founding of America you will find that slavery was NEVER intended to continue. The Constitution suggested for slavery to be abolished around 1840??.. Our government has never been like a checkout at the store. You don’t get to pick out what you want to buy and get it right away. Instead it is more like layaway.

  • Bills are made and if they pass they will be put in to effect but not immediately. Sometimes it is years before a bill like banning slavery is put in to effect. Eventually it would have been banned rather Lincoln did it or not. The first reason slavery would have been abolished had to do with how other nations such as England viewed America’s moral values of slave ownership. You see England had abolished slavery centuries prior to America and did not look lightly over the matter.

  • Besides, many states banned slavery prior to the formation of the emancipation proclamation. The third largest contributor to the end of slavery was industrialization, manufacturing and cost. The small amount of plantation owners that did have slaves produced cotton, as cotton gins came along slaves were no longer needed. The machines could process cotton much faster than any human. In conclusion the main reason for the war was MONEY.

  • The South was going to lose its stronghold on the production and PRICE of cotton basically a monopoly. Secondly a railroad was being built and the North and South had a dispute over who (N or S) and where it would be build. Yet again it was a fight over MONEY. Controlling the railroad and where it was, meant control of the money it produced and shipped in the form of freight. So did abolishing slavery influence the war? Yes, but it was not a tool intended in any way to start or stop the war.

  • People misinterpreted what the fight was about b ecause it was not about owning or not owning slaves. The fight was about rather the State or Federal Government should control an individual’s rights to property ownership such as land and slaves. It was an economic war.

  • I respect your personal view but I think you should do some research about history before you post something for kids who are learning about the subject to learn see.

  • There's an awful lot of conspiracy that goes on in the world, over the years, I have learned to see things for what they really are.

  • "If I could free all the slaves and save the Union I would, If I could free most of the slaves and save the Union I would, but If I could free none of the slaves and save the Union I would."-Abraham Lincoln.

  • The civil war changed the racist opinions of many white people, including Lincoln. Seeing how black people behaved in battle convinced white people that blacks could be good Americans and deserved citizenship/civil rights. 168,000+ whites had to be drafted into the Union army; all of the 178,000+ colored troops were volunteers. The 14th amendment (citizenship, due process, and equal protection) and 15th amendment (voting rights) were direct results of black participation in the civil war.

  • @KayBeeEee1983 Look up how many were hung for desertion .

  • I think it's interesting that, originally, the Republicans were the radicals/liberals and called socialists, while the Democrats were the conservatives/reactionaries/libertarians. Today, those roles have completely flip-flopped.

  • U r correct. 12FlyMe (dumbass) does not like the truth and strategy of the CW on the Union side. Lincoln was a politician who told his audience what they wanted to hear. U r dead right that Lincoln was NOT the Great Emancipator that HE is remembered as enlightend on slavery is In-correct. He used Slavery to win the war.

  • Abraham Lincoln did free the slaves to win the war, but he did believe that slavery was wrong and he did believe that the blacks should be free.

  • You are %100 right. Don't be too hard on old Honest Abe though. Those were much much different times. Lincoln believed that the black man could not flourish in the white mans system and society. While in 2011 it sounds completely racist to say that to some degree and with many exceptions his statement has rang true. His idea was to ship the slaves back or to a new place to build a society of their own.

  • Dude watches a documentary and speaks his mind. Shut the fuck up and do some research.

  • @Comblit Hey shit bird, REFUTE WHAT I SAID! This didn't have anything to do with watching a fucking documentary. How bout instead of trying to be a smart ass, Why don't you refute the facts of the video. Until you can do that, follow your own advice and SHUT THE FUCK UP.

  • @SpannTV Dont listen to these jerk offs ;; i feel this was realy good ;; it sure helped me with and abraham lincoln project , Thank youu !

  • You mention the KKK these days votes Republican, thats untrue these Neo Nazi KKK tyes dominate the Libertarian party. They are not welcome in the Reublican party. In the 80 David Duke was a former member and he was asked to leave by George H.W. Bush.

  • 150 years ago Democrats wanted to nationalize blacks now they want to nationalize Insurance companies. They really have not changed that much at all. The reason for the constant attacks of racism is because of thier Marxist ideology, the beleive free market capitalism is racist and exploits minorites. Anyone who defends capitalism is considered racist.

  • By the time Lincoln gave his enaugeral address the Union was already breaking up and he was trying desperately to avoid a horrible war by taking slavery off the table but it was too late. The South needed to evict Union forces from their territory so they could move on the west and other nations, they also tried to topple Washington 2 times. They were kind of the origianal fascist.

  • The Democrat party kicked the abolishionist out and they formed the Republican party. Lincoln was clearly a abolishionist. In that election Douglas warned if a Republican was elected there will be war. Lincoln tried to assure there would be no war but when he won the election that Nov states began to seceed. The south planned to forcibly enter western states into the Union as slave states and invade Cuba to create a plantation empire.

  • this guy is so really young and dont know the histroy , pfft simple mind we calling this , first we have stragedie using weak indians but they can not doing the lsavery work, cause they werent strong enough. white nation really misleaded /liars and trick then they find the black slaves strong ppl thats good for money black slaves fre working for white nations!!

  • @MultiSolucion What the fuck are you talking about?

  • This dumb fuck isn't a pimple on Frederick Douglass' dog's ass. He has no idea who Frederick Douglass is, what he did with Lincoln, or what he said about Lincoln.

Where does he get his info? Not from Douglass, not from people who knew Lincoln. He gets his info from edited bullshit, and the dumb fuck has no idea it was edited and taken out of context.

He has no fucking idea. The dumb fuck should study people like Douglass, who was there, and had been a slave, and saw it all .

  • @12FlyMe Lincoln's own words DEAL WITH THEM, shit for brains. And oh yeah. TROLLS aren't Welcome here on SpannTV. It's one thing to disagree, but to come and recklessly disrespect everyone is flat out of line. And I refuse to give you not only the time, but the ability to shine here. TAKE YOUR IGNORANT ASS SOMEWHERE ELSE.

  • @SpannTV Thats Why I Didnt Even Respond 2 Him. He's Obviously Incapable Of A Constructive Dialouge. I Guess He Thought He Would Be The 1st 2 Defile This Page & Get Away With It.

  • @actonbath: You're questioning Mr. Spann's "public education"??? We should all be so lucky as to have someone question the norm that has been set by the Federal Government. Those who blindly accept whatever their GOVERNMENT ISSUED textbook says are the ignorant ones!

@Mr. Spann: This subject goes MUCH deeper than you could ever even imagine. I'll get with you later on if you want because there is SO MUCH information. When I saw the truth my world was completely turned upside down.

  • @italia -- Let the Southern leaders speak for themselves.

Go fucking read the Southern Leaders Ultimatums --demands to meet, to avoid war. The Southern newspapers reported the Ultimatums from Montgomery with great glee --- headlines such as "THE TRUE ISSUE"

Go see what the SOUTHERN leaders bragged about at the time, like the Ultimatums.

Shit you pussies have tried to hide for 150 years.

You fucking pussies hide what your leaders were bragging about at the time.

  • @12FlyMe

I'm not sure why you're so damn hostile, but it shows how YOUR side prefers to "debate". You have absolutely zero civility. You're calling me very profane names and you know almost nothing about me. You go on to say that I've been hiding for 150 years? Who am I? Are you calling me a racist? I'm far from it. People such as yourself make me sick.

  • Wow. Your ignorance is astounding.

    Public "Educated" ?

I'd write something to help educated you and 99% of youtube wheenies but why bother.

If you are watching this video or reading comments here's a BASIC QUESTION...Know what a Whig is?..if not, nobody cares to read your ignorant comments or watch your videos showing the entire planet how ignorant you are of US history.

  • @actonbath The whigs were the seeds to the republican party. The worst thing to ever happen to local, self government. Lincoln was a colonist who wanted to deport blacks to the islands. He was a tyrant who killed hundreds and thousands of Americans.

  • @IslandersMets10 Wrong dumb fuck -- you have let other goofy fucks edit Lincolns quotes and slide just part up your willing ass.

Go see his FULL speech on deportation retard. Not the edited bullshit. He completely obliterates the idea of deportation in the next sentence! But you fucktards have always run away from Lincoln, like you ran away from Sherman.

    Pussies then, pussies now.

  • He freed them only because it could turn the balance of power. Nothing more.... He had no desire to.... except out of necessity.

  • @gwengoad you stupid fuck, go look at Lincoln's private letters his entire life, you stupid shit.

Or read his full speeches, you stupid shit. Or understand what he did, you stupid shit.

You only know some edited shit -- edited to distort. You opened your dumb ass, begged to be fucked with edited dicks, and then said thank you mammy.

    Learn real history you fucktard.

  • you ungrateful....

  • @whateveryou8 Please tell me how he's ungrateful? I would love to read your explanation..

  • good points

  • God Bless all Americans....All Brothers and sisters...

  • another one of lincolns quotes states that there is no reason why negroes should not be entitled to all rights that whites have. research lincolns quotes and you will find that if your thinking im just making it up.and one of the reasons he change his about blacks rights is because of pressure from abolishinist groups so he was conflicted on those ideas. but the end result was the peservation of the union and the freeing of the slaves which was incidental but they were freed as a result

  • i beleive what your saying but i hope you also understand that the end result benifited black people anyway. because what lincoln did was open the gate to start the march towards civil rights for lots of people. even though he didnt care for non whites. the main thing is the door being opened . and its good to hear from somebody who knows the real reason for the civil war.

  • @MrHead1972 Agreed, but the point of this video was just to point out that while some Republicans like to throw out the fact that Lincoln freed the slaves and therefore that should result in blacks voting for republicans now. They forget that even Lincoln didn't think much of black folks either.

And quite frankly if the Republicans and Democrats of the 1860's just simply wouldn't recognize those politicians calling themselves Democrats and Republicans now.

  • @MrHead1972 you stupid fuck, Lincoln didnt care?

GO fucking read something besides Southern slanted fucking bullshit you idiot.

Ever hear of Frederick Douglass? The genius of 19th Century? He knew Lincoln, he knew the scum sucking pigs Lincoln had to deal with.

Go read what Douglass said about Lincoln -- and why. Go see HIS judgement of Lincoln.

Once you know 1/100th as much as Douglass knew, you might have an idea worth a shit. Right now you are just a dumb fuck.

  • @MrHead1972 You are one stupid fuck.

You should read Frederick Douglass. He knew Lincoln, and was responsible for Lincoln's Emancipation Proclamation. Did you know that? He knew Lincoln and the scum sucking pigs Lincoln had to deal with.

Go read what Douglass said about Lincoln -- and why.

If you knew 1% of what Douglass did, you might have an opinion worth a crap.

As it is, you are just a dumb shit.

  • Hey man Im Proud that you actually go back and research this stuff. Lincolns primary mission in my opinion though was to establish a Nazi federal government that has no accountibility.

  • Good video. From what I have learned the Civil War was definitely more about states rights then anything else. Slavery was used as a political tool for sure.

  • @Irawdom Sorry but.... You couldn't be more wrong!!! It was ALL about slavery and the abolishionists in the north vs the rural south---economy period!!! Just like now..there is no such thing as democrats and republicans---they are ALL representatives of corporate america who want to keep us (the people) at each others throats!!! BTW---ever heard of John Brown???

  • It was three abolishonist senators from the states of Mass, Penn, and Ohio that finally convinced Lincoln to free the slaves and it was Fredrick Douglas that convinced him to let them fight in the war. But one things for sure, he let it be known how he felt about it as well as how he felt about blacks.

  • Comment removed

  • @warcamp70 yeah but another one of lincolns quotes states that he dindnt see any reason why "negroes" shouldnt be entitled to the same rights as whites check out lincolns quotes online and you will find that

  • @MrHead1972

My paramount object in this struggle is to save the union, and is not either to save or destroy slavery. If I could save the union without freeing any slave I would do it, and if I could save it by freeing all the slaves, I would do it; and if I could save it by freeing some and leaving others alone I would also do that -Abraham Lincoln

Do more research, he didn't give a f about slaves and he also have quotes stating that he would never but blacks on equal standing with whites.

  • @warcamp70 while the civil war was going on the south agreed to surrender if lincoln would institute slavery into the constitution forever and lincoln in so many words told them to fuck off. and he could have okayed that and imagine what it would be like today if he did that. so YOU do your research because mine has been done. and i have already read those quotes you stated in your reply so no need to go there.

  • @warcamp70 and keep in mind that lincoln didnt have to free the slaves but did anyway. and have you ever had a change of heart? and how come your not quoting that change of heart by lincoln where he said "negroes" should be entitled to the same rights as whites or have YOU not did YOUR research

  • @warcamp70 and quite frankly i could care less about his main objective but what i do care about is the end result and i dont understand why you seem to want to ignore the end result. HE OPENED THE DOOR!!!!!!!!!

  • @warcamp70 fredrick douglas convinced lincoln to let slaves fight in the war is not the same is douglas forced lincoln to let slaves fight in the war. the word convinced would imply that lincoln had a change of heart . because lincoln did have a choice of weather or not to let the slaves fight.

  • Very good video Brother!!!

  • I had no ideal about Lincoln's true stance ....will be doing more research. Thank you for the heads up.

  • @nocturne1980 when you do your research the quotes where lincoln states that he didnt see any reason why negroes should not enjoy the same freedoms as whites.
