It's not that it's "easy" and that Guitar Hero is "harder", it's more that Rock Band's note charts make sense, while Guitar Hero 3's are there just to add difficulty for the hell of it.

Yeah, there are. My Sharona (DLC), the Ride the Lightning (DLC), Green Grass and High Tides, Run To The Hills, Foreplay/Longtime (not so much harder than most, but fun), (Pleasure) Pleasure, and a few others. Remember, unlike GH3 which is going for difficulty, Rock Band is going for note charts that actually make sense.

The guitar is the same, except for the solo buttons, but the guitar charts for the songs in game aren't. They are completely different because in Rock Band, they make sense. In GH3, it's just a giant row of flying colors. In Rock Band, it feels like you're actually playing the song, even though you're not.

and besides, the amount of time you have to hit the note is insanely small. they took out the insane solos in replace for making you more accurate. the time frame in this is like if you actuvate the "precision mode" cheat on GH3

I think if you want blistering solo's and generally hard songs, you probably should get GH. Rock Band seems to be more about playing together with friends and feeling like a real band. GH is about rocking and rocking hard.

Funny thing is, most of the songs they've shown are pretty easy to play in real life, so I'm expecting them to be pretty easy in the game too. Really though, did anyone expect "Maps" and "Here it Goes Again" to be hard?

Oh. Yeah. They needed a more distinctive note image from Guitar Hero to show that this really IS NOT a Guitar Hero expansion. I think it's sort of hard to tell HOPOs from regular notes (HOPOs appear smaller, like at the beginning of the Epic clip in this vid), but I'm sure after spending a few hours with the game I'll be able to pick 'em out.
