I am awestruck by this dance. Maxence and Tatianna are just beautiful to watch. I just met her a couple of weeks ago in a workshop and she is a lovely person to learn from.
Tat illistrates why she is the best. Such raw fearless aggresion followed by subtle musical brilliance. Such a perfect brush brush for Max to paint with. A Piccasso!
@tozasitak I think the reason this dance might have been one of the best you've ever seen, was becasue it was actually not a performance, just a good ol' social dance, I mean, thats what swing is all about right..?
If this is the direction WCS is headed in, I could get interested again. This music rises and falls, has great phrasing and inspires a variety of movement; much better than the boomboom/"high energy/no change" music at so many events.
I hope you guys had as much fun dancing as I had watching :)
I loved the whole thing but Tatiana's movement at 3:45 to the end was really inspiring. I've never seen a movement like that in West coast swing and it had such a beauty to it :)
@popook88 : the nice variation at 3:46 is a Right Side Pass Outside Turn (one of the basics), only combined with a Duck made with the Leader's right arm. And since it's the end of the song, Tatiana just stretches herself slowly out of the Duck. We get to see that variation (RSPOT + Duck) quite often in West Coast Swing. :)
I can't believe pro's are dancing on concrete. I hate dancing on that stuff. My hat's off to them just for being on that floor. Amazing dancing still.
