I really it was old docs reason that he caused his own fading from existence. He was too attached to his younger self's flying car and making it work one more time, without realizing that if he interfered with his younger self, or the flying car he could change his own existence in the future.

You know what shocks me about this game, that Christopher Lloyd was the only original cast member to do a voiceover. These movies were almost like Star Wars with the lack of success had by the cast members after they were done. I mean, Michael J. Fox and Christopher Lloyd were pretty much the only ones to have any level of success. Thomas F. Wilson, Crispin Glover, and Lea Thompson have pretty much done nothing else.

@demoman20 That was the Part 3 DeLorean that got destroyed by the train at the end. But in this game they explained a little plot-twist when you talk to Doc back in Episode 1 where a copy was made of the DeLorean that he was in while being struck by lightning at the end of Part 2 that got sent into the future while the one with Doc got sent to 1885. That's why the DeLorean somehow came back in this game and why it can fly again (probably only because Doc could fix the flying circuits).
