  • so energic...

  • Oh yeah. He's got the funk.

  • Everyone 's a critic . Please all of you who have any hint of a negative comment post your video and let us see wat ya got. I LOVE Stanton Moore Saw him live in Shreveport for the first time and he played to an virtually empty house on a Tuesday. You would have thought there were 10,000 people there. What show!

  • i love stanton :)

  • Geez I love Stanton, but if you're gonna play "Good Times Bad Times", you gotta hit those bass drum triplets. It's like playing "Wipe Out" with out the tom roll.

  • @russellperry I think he does later in the song, but I'd have to go back and check out the DVD again.

  • Im kind of proud ,ryly ! ;d

  • Nice to see a groove drummer gettin it on!

  • This guy is fucking gifted!!

  • happy belated birthday stanton!!!

  • That guy could groove with friggin toothpicks as sticks and would still sound awesome!

  • His cymbals sound amazing!

  • im not a critic, but his Bass Drum is a lil soft. is that like how he plays? on sum of his music it sounds like you cant get a feel of the groove a lil.

  • @LinkMasterRated his drumming style branches from more of a jazz style than a funk style i feel. that would make it harder to find the groove cuz its not as obvious and the bass drum in jazz drumming is not usually loud and syncopated like in funk, but more modest and used to keep time.

  • @drumguy2194 What are you talking about, jazz has as much groove as anything, where do you think groove comes from? And the bass drum in jazz is not used to keep time, you have it backwards; in jazz the bass drum is used to accentuate, to punctuate, to make a sudden, emphatic statement.

  • @PoeticJustice05 i didnt say there wasnt any groove, i said it was harder to find it just because the down beats are as prominent. and as far as the bass drum, the style "four on the floor" in jazz

is made to keep time with the bass drum

  • @drumguy2194 You don't find groove, you feel it. Four on the floor is one aspect of jazz, swing actually, and only some of it. In most jazz it's very scarcely used.

  • 4 persons needs a brain n' ears LoOoL !

  • stanton grooves harddd!

  • easily the most animated non shit drummer xD

  • somethings weird about this mix

  • @ytsephill More cowbell? joking joking...

The cymbals sound phenomenal, but the snare lost its sensitive voice. As you can see in the prescription the audio is unedited, so this was probably fixed on the DVD.

  • Sounds like the keyboard player mixed this DVD

  • 3 people are scared of the awesome pandeiro.

  • whenever i watch or think about stanton moore tracks or videos i always get so inspired to go and play man!

  • This is great. He is great. I lol'd irl at the people who said he dragged good times bad times. He certainly did not. Time to break out the old metronomes for some I guess.

  • I think that he is a great drummer, but the way that he dragged the tempo of good times bad times at the beginning was unforgivable.

  • feels really rushed he fluffs the first fill and it don't get any better...other stuff is ok

  • who the hell do three people not like this Im sorry anyone that doesn't enjoy Stanton Moore's playing probably sucks at life...or is was too into Jesus

  • what is the name of the first song?

  • @drummerHauk good times bad times by led zeppelin

  • @JoeJacari You're a fag.

  • @mypants1 BROOL STORY CO

  • @mypants1 COOL STORY BRO

  • Hey, mypants, get a good shrink or even better ; let some friend drive you to an near by state prison.

  • he is using a trigger on is kick........ i wonder if he will get ridiculed like metal drummers do when they use triggers.

  • @ramo619 Sorry, but I don`t think he uses triggers in this video, You could put the side of the cowbell for a trigger. But there is clearly no any triggers in this video.

  • @b10buzz umm i was judging purely off the the tone of the kick ( not realizing that the actual mic is all the way in the bass drum ) and what looks at 1:11 at the top of his bass drum a ddrum trigger. i could be wrong though.

  • His playing is great, but I really wish they'd play it closer to the original tempo, Seems way too rushed.

  • i though he only plays jazz. lol

  • @ransisua Actually he's not really a jazz player at all - mostly a new orleans funk type player.

  • @NouveauNick he plays jazz also

  • What was that ither bass drum on the left of his kit used for? Good stuff here.

  • @paulwall1981 It's a 26" bass for the more rock stuff. I actually was just at a clinic of his yesterday, he was explaining the different tones he achieves with different drums for other styles of music..

  • @Kelavmeister. Thanks for the info my friend.

  • zzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

  • First Stanton Moore I have ever seen, and he is incredible! Doesn't do anything too fancy, keeps it solid and most importantly, fits at all times :)

  • Why would these be unmixed? It is the audio we care about...

  • don't like the begionning.. love it at 2 mins :p

  • Is missing: Dennis Chambers, Dave Weckl, Ray Luzier, Tommy Campbell, MD of the festivals.

  • love his ride

  • where the fuck is the groove..

  • @azsx1979 you're not serious, are you?

  • @azsx1979 i agree. this guy is a B+ at best in this vid.

  • Stanton is the man. Galactic effin' *burns*. Love his trio, too.

  • he stuffed the roll up going into the first song bad

  • Boring.

  • @amjan thats what she said yesterday

  • @amjan you are an idiot.

  • First song is called Good Times, Bad Times by Led Zeppelin

    :P

  • yawn

  • Did you see that hi- hat the start!! was going crazy lol

  • What is the name of the song they are playing at the start of this clip?

  • Nobody can copy Bonham! ;)

  • @HuehnerHonk Nor, to the same degree, can they copy colaiuta, williams, weckl, rich, jones, chambers, or stanton moore for that matter.

  • beautiful bosphorus cymbals

  • Stanton just straight grooves. Hes so relaxed and has so much fun behind the kit.

  • what kinda cymbols are those?

  • @victoriaboy55 his bosphorus (signature) cymbals

  • Great Groove!!

  • I WANT MOORE!!!! lol and i could not take my eys off his hats lol such fun to watch

  • Bonzo would be proud!

  • @drumguyrobc Lol?

  • @drumguyrobc ... I love Stanton Moore but that was not a good version of Zeppelin

  • @sweetfly66 How was that not a good version of Zeppelin? It only went on for a bout a minute and he was pretty much right in the pocket.

  • Moore is probably my all time favorite drummer.

  • stanton moore and benny greb have got to be my 2 biggest influences on the drums

  • @heinzie5 two good ones to have!...check out my old drum teacher...Jeff Sipe...played with jazz is dead, aquarium rescue unit, shawn lane, phil lesh, etc...he's bad to the bone!

  • @heinzie5 went to one of benny's clinics not too long ago and it was incredible!!

  • @NashPreds39 I had the chance to see benny a few years ago also. My dad worked at the store putting on the clinic so afterwards me and my family were invited to dinner with the greb, dave langguth, scott atkins from sonor and other employees. It was great! Needless to say everyone was banging on the table with their fingers lol.

  • @mutantthrash wow man, you got to go to dinner with him?? thats so badass! his clinic was great, got alot of useful tips from him. and he seems like the kind of guy to play on a table with his hands haha.

  • Who mixed these recordings? This sound engineer doesn't know anything about drumsounds...Just listen to this crappy bass drum and the much to loud high-tom!...Great playing by the way! ;)

  • So, do all of these videos only have this one camera angle or what? I hope the final versions of this video have something more. The festival is already in bad enough shape as it is.

  • whatever bro....pack it in..

  • exelente!! un genio !

  • HIII AND THE OF CHRIS COLEMAN VIDEO?

  • @manucolaiuta i hope you never see the chris coleman video, cause you're so fucking annoying.

  • @manucolaiuta wen coleman played he did a master class which the attenders had to pay alot of money for...i would know i was there. so they dont put those up

  • Up to 0:32, isn't that 'Good Times, Bad Times'

    ?

  • @dichotomism It is! :-)

  • @dichotomism for sure!

  • @dichotomism Quite alot faster then Zeppelins haha, but yeah it is.
