Everyone 's a critic . Please all of you who have any hint of a negative comment post your video and let us see wat ya got. I LOVE Stanton Moore Saw him live in Shreveport for the first time and he played to an virtually empty house on a Tuesday. You would have thought there were 10,000 people there. What a show!

Geez I love Stanton, but if you're gonna play "Good Times Bad Times", you gotta hit those bass drum triplets. It's like playing "Wipe Out" with out the tom roll.
im not a critic, but his Bass Drum is a lil soft. is that like how he plays? on sum of his music it sounds like you cant get a feel of the groove a lil.
@LinkMasterRated his drumming style branches from more of a jazz style than a funk style i feel. that would make it harder to find the groove cuz its not as obvious and the bass drum in jazz drumming is not usually loud and syncopated like in funk, but more modest and used to keep time.
@drumguy2194 What are you talking about, jazz has as much groove as anything, where do you think groove comes from? And the bass drum in jazz is not used to keep time, you have it backwards; in jazz the bass drum is used to accentuate, to punctuate, to make a sudden, emphatic statement.
@PoeticJustice05 i didnt say there wasnt any groove, i said it was harder to find it just because the down beats are as prominent. and as far as the bass drum, the style "four on the floor" in jazz
@drumguy2194 You don't find groove, you feel it. Four on the floor is one aspect of jazz, swing actually, and only some of it. In most jazz it's very scarcely used.
The cymbals sound phenomenal, but the snare lost its sensitive voice. As you can see in the prescription the audio is unedited, so this was probably fixed on the DVD.
This is great. He is great. I lol'd irl at the people who said he dragged good times bad times. He certainly did not. Time to break out the old metronomes for some I guess.
who the hell do three people not like this Im sorry anyone that doesn't enjoy Stanton Moore's playing probably sucks at life...or is was too into Jesus
@ramo619 Sorry, but I don`t think he uses triggers in this video, You could put the side of the cowbell for a trigger. But there is clearly no any triggers in this video.
@b10buzz umm i was judging purely off the the tone of the kick ( not realizing that the actual mic is all the way in the bass drum ) and what looks at 1:11 at the top of his bass drum a ddrum trigger. i could be wrong though.
@paulwall1981 It's a 26" bass for the more rock stuff. I actually was just at a clinic of his yesterday, he was explaining the different tones he achieves with different drums for other styles of music..
@drumguyrobc .... i will cut and paste this from someone else to answer your question ... Geez I love Stanton, but if you're gonna play "Good Times Bad Times", you gotta hit those bass drum triplets. It's like playing "Wipe Out" with out the tom roll.
@heinzie5 two good ones to have!...check out my old drum teacher...Jeff Sipe...played with jazz is dead, aquarium rescue unit, shawn lane, phil lesh, etc...he's bad to the bone!
@NashPreds39 I had the chance to see benny a few years ago also. My dad worked at the store putting on the clinic so afterwards me and my family were invited to dinner with the greb, dave langguth, scott atkins from sonor and other employees. It was great! Needless to say everyone was banging on the table with their fingers lol.
@mutantthrash wow man, you got to go to dinner with him?? thats so badass! his clinic was great, got alot of useful tips from him. and he seems like the kind of guy to play on a table with his hands haha.
Who mixed these recordings? This sound engineer doesn't know anything about drumsounds...Just listen to this crappy bass drum and the much to loud high-tom!...Great playing by the way! ;)
So, do all of these videos only have this one camera angle or what? I hope the final versions of this video have something more. The festival is already in bad enough shape as it is.
@manucolaiuta wen coleman played he did a master class which the attenders had to pay alot of money for...i would know i was there. so they dont put those up
