I've been listening to Common Existance a lot lately, and honestly I'm finding it much more mature and solid than Full Collapse. The songwriting is centered around the bass much more than the guitar like on earlier releases, I think that's what dividing people.

I have to disagree: they've only gotten worse, and I am one of those Thursday fans who knows every lyric. I'm almost 24 and I became obsessed with their music when I was 14. Common Existence being "heavier" isn't a plus - there's no screaming and the music is bass-heavy and muddy. I'm not a musician, so I don't know what they did, but it sounds like they tuned the guitars differently or messed with the amps. It's like listening to Thursday cover Metallica or something; it's fucking terrible.

@Trash1ey this is the album that got me into the band, i really don't understand the longtime hatred that you fans seem to have for it. it doesn't make sense to me.

I definetly agree that they are getting better, but, in my opinion, they have two or three weak songs in each album. I tried getting some friends into stuff from Common Existence and A City By the Light Devided, and a lot of people could not overlook counting 54321.

This album is definitely their best since Full Collapse, actually I almost prefer it since it's a little heavier.

a city by the light divided was their last good album for me, common existence has some goods songs but just a few(my opinion)

are you kidding me??!!!! Common existence blows doors on city by the light divided, that album had like 3 good songs, common existence has only one bad song (love has led us astray) but i still think war all the time and full collapse are their best ever cds

Bravo, i agree. I wish they'd go back to being heavy but that shows how real Thursday is because it seems as though they are burnt out from all the soul baring on previous albums.

They don't sound anything like any other band, do me a favour and quit comparing them. Whenever I play they're tracks you can always tell it's Thursday without glancing once.

I can't wait to see them in November.

No one sounds like Thursday. Thursday always does everything different, may it be timing (cross out the eyes) or even little things like when the vocals come into the song (Hole In The World).

and i have seen rise against earier this yrr in roundhouse, that was amazing, they had 5 encore songs

I'm really looking forward to seeing thursday, since I first heard one of their tracks i was hooked. their lyrics are so well written and thought out. theyre one of my main inspirations.

You just recently heard of PTW? I guess now is better than never. PTW's best song is Torn, that horrible band Trapt stole the guitar riff from it.

They were awesome live, now I'm hooked :)

The vocals were a little slow to start with but I think it was just because of the location, it was a big audience considering not everyone had turned up yet it must have been a surprise for them. So much energy, really awesome.

I love the direction this band is going, rather then being stagnent like many other bands. Thursday comes through even with the labelization of being just an "emo" band. Great Song and even better albulm. XOXO
