ok! listen! when i watched that i noticed that there was a certain pattern with your camera shake. so what you are saying is that......they did a really complicated camera shake pattern so that nobody would notice on both sides of a split screen at the same time.......LIVE!!!! ...........AND..... the camera man (who you see from the other angle is clearly holding the camera can hold it perfectly still!.........Na. i believe it was split screen but i really don't understand the camera shake thing
I suppose there was some camera tracking for this to work with handheld camera (which means editing afterwards), so would this also work with live footage like brown's?
I mean can you automate the effect to do it on the fly?
With respect to Luke, and you will see why I am saying this, I am sure he did not spend a lifetime on this video but it is an excellent example of the technique and is edited seamlessly... now imagine the effort that Derren and his team would have put in to make sure they have perfect timings for when they do it live... Derren said himself that he had been working on it for a year.... tbh tho the fact that its live does not really make a difference.. its the camera shake that is added (more2cum)
its the camera shake that is added using editing software (live) that makes it seem difficult, what we are seeing is a shot from a camera on a tripod so that there is no movement by the camera (this is why derren says there is a camera at the back of the room, while u c a pre-recorded long shot of derren on his own with the camera man, the camera is being placed on the tripod, this allows the pre-recorded shot of the balls to be overlayed over the live shot of derren, camera shake to hide this
ok, this is my last comment. I guess you people dont really believe the same thing what i can, and i dont mean this in an offensive way, but it doesnt matter. you can believe what you want, really. free world.
Your lighting was wrong. I could see the shadow of the hand on the out of focus thing on the bottom right, even on the edited version. That aside, I think this is a perfect explanation of what transpired; the camera shake was a nice touch.
That bannana was an uncanny likeness to derren himself on Wednesday night! Great work, I'm sure that's how he did it, I was suspicious of split screen as soon as I saw there was no live audience.
ok, not a lot of people seem to like my earlier comment, but listen to this. Why would he make up that whole story about 24 people randomly picking numbers when its all not true? there was surely an easier story to tell. I guess you dont need to believe in it, but ill just tell you that i do.
@RossCee, they had plenty of time, when Derren was writing down the numbers on paper. Why doing so if not to let his assistant put the right balls in place?
this is a load of rubbish-it went too fast-they wouldnt have enough time to put the numbers on with that technique. anyway, even if you can make it look shaky, its all too stupid with that. just watch the show on friday alright
He had about at least 30 seconds to get the numbers in place after the final one was drawn; that's easily long enough. They were all drawn, THEN he wrote them all down on a card to kill time, THEN he walked over and showed his 'prediction'. This is exactly how it was done. It is a trick after all.
I really want to know if a banana on a string doing magic tricks could pull the ratings that Brown does.
My vote would be that it could.

I love the insinuation that Derren is a banana. =) Thanks *LOL*

if you notice, theres a slight shadow movement in the white thing in the bottom right corner at 0:12 - 0:14
its hard to notice but you realise it on the unedited part

I believe that software (or maybe even hardware) could be developed that allows this to be done with live video.

yes i suppose so, anyhow this seems to be most plausible explanation

nothing gets past you does it lol

This is exactly how he done it. This entire and in factuality simple trick is one giant ploy in part of a viral campaign
