you have a nice little farm there. I was wondering if you have any tips on growing the jalepenos? I emptied an entire pack of seeds into a 5x7 starter pot and they are all growing together. They are about 3 inches tall and there are about 20 little plants..should I separate them? Thanks again!
@wheredidileavemycell We just happened about it by accident....but you should definitely separate them. We saved several peppers to replant more in the spring ;) c
Great garden Cindy. It's amazing how much food a small area can produce. I'm trying to grow pineapple plants myself and each plant is very large. Easily several feet across and still growing. They need a lot of room to grow and they don't like being crowded together. I'm growing 5 pineapple plants in one 4'x4' raised bed planter which I started growing late last summer. They are very slow growing plants and I hope they'll mature this year. Good luck with the garden!
@yhird That's awesome! I finally separated all my pineapple plants into their own pots. They seem to be doing well. I heard it takes about 3 years to actually get a pineapple from them though. ;) c
@SoulSurvivorX2 Good job Cindy! Pineapple plants like a lot of water. In Hawaii they grow very well in the rich volcanic soil there. Good luck with them.
@7mooodalkwt Ours is starting to die off. Saving as much as we can to dry it out and use it the rest of the year. Harvested some seeds of of them so we can replant and hopefully have the same result next season ;) c
Hi guys your both great [camera guy is better lol] but your basil shouldnt get to that stage in life if you kept picking at it to cook with, its gotten to that size coz its trying to go too seed and kind of sow its oats as it where. it produces new shoots when you pick earlier one`s off but if you dont then the plant grows bigger and gets woodier [less tasting] p.s. love you guys, sorry to diss your basil plant
@ukgardener1 That makes a lot of sense. But for the two of us it's too much to eat. Mike puts it on his salad every night...a lot of it. I can only handle a little of it. We'll probably end up picking it, drying it and saving it for the winter. Thanks for the comments and support ;)c
Nice work in such a small space. Look in to Pigmy peppers out of texas. They would do great there and there is lot of things you can use them for. I have some in a jar of vinigar and you just put union in it and it seasons the union.
@SoulSurvivorX2 Yep, they are hot if you eat them but if used to soak with it just adds spice. I did a search and was suprised I couldn't find much on them. I'll ask my friend that gave me mine where he got them.
Ok that basil scared me! I thought you were growing a decorative bush or something boring and then you said basil! holy cow! Take a bow! :) Whatever you're doing, you're definitely doing it very right.
@Praxxus55712 Organic compost with earthworms from my moms little farm and lot's of water i guess. Oh and my husband sings to it every night. Thanks for commenting ;)c

@4GreenEarth2 Thank you. It's like that every year. I think it's due to the grow boxes and organic soil mixed with compost I get from my mother ;) c
