  • I WAS THERE!!!!

    AMAZING!!!!

  • this is what scotland does best

  • OMG - seeing takes me right back to that gig - one of the first ever at Balloch, near Loch Lomond. 'twas truly amazing! If I remember correctly this was of the first live performances of this song (to a stadium size crowd anyways). Still gives me goosebumps to watch ... still love it. Alba gu brath!

  • @scull61

Aye, I left my army barracks in London AT 0300HRS just to got there (hard to believe it was nearly 20 years ago!)

  • Donnie was far superior to bruce and I was very disapointed when I first heard bruce singing donnie's songs but he has made some of the newer songs his own which would probably sound strange if we heard somebody else singing them. So fair dues, I know that you wont all agree but what have we got if they all decided to pack it in? They are still a mega band and Rory is now beginning to show us more of his talent which we only saw glimpses of before.

  • They are both great singers. Different, but both talented. I'm just glad they didn't pack it in and are still together, albeit changed but still making fabulous music.

  • I think Bruce is just as good as Donnie. They do, however, have DIFFERENT styles. Donnie was more sing-songy whereas Bruce sounds more American-rockish.

  • Makes me proud to be a west coast Scotsman. Play this one EVERY day!

  • I echo the last comment. Have seen Runrig live many times. Have had the privilege to meet them once at Nottingham concert hall. Donnie was the sound of the band. Bruce is a poor substitute. Just like Bruce Johnson wrecked the sound of The Beach Boys. C'est la vie malheureusement.

  • @Bigal7029 i know what you mean.

  • wish we cud turn back time

  • ROCK ON MALKY JONES!

  • hes a legend!

  • I was there and it was the best ever!!!!

it still gives me goose bumps to watch it all these years later.

  • @gordo01291 Me too! hard to believe it was TWENTY YEARS AGO!!!

  • great song, you can almost call the style celtic heavy metal if such thing exists.

  • foreva proud to be scottish after that night never 4get it

  • this was my first ever runrig concert, and it wasnt my last after the performance by all, loved them

  • Found my old ticket stub for this the other day. What a day it was, Runrig at their very best!!!!

  • 14 days and the rest of today, then I'll see the flower of the west. Thanks for the vid!

  • Fanatastic. Runrig at their best

  • I have stated in my will "Flower of the west " to be played at my funeral, every time I hear it tears come to my eyes, it is so moving, especialy as I know of the places in the lyrics.

  • pure dead brilliant

  • flower of the west is one of their best eva songs i love it and it inspired ma brother to start drumming, when he was a wee boy hed take ma mums pots and pans and anything he could hit and drum along to this track perfectly. now he has a proper drum kit and he still plays it note perfect.

  • i was their that night it was bloody brilliant

great band thanks for the video

  • AMAZING!!!!!!!

  • Run Rig at their absolute best.

  • ABSOLUTLY AMAZING

  • Runrig is amazing!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Malcolm Jones is great on the guitar here :)

  • Love this song love runrig

  • Excellent song Jean.ty

  • I love this song. I love Runrig!

  • TY LAWGIRL.THEY ARE THE BEST

  • Love this band! Cheers for reminding me how brilliant they are - not overly keen on donnies replacement but the music is still fab!

  • My uncle stays in the park and I was there on the night- after this night, Im hooked on this song especially. Malky Jones' solo in this song inspired me to play the guitar. NO other band gets a party started like Runrig. It's foot tapping, thigh slapping, howlering, beer swigging great!!

  • I quite agree about Bruce Guthro. He's Ok, the band are still great, but I think the magic left when Donnie left.

  • yes, the magic left when he left.

  • amazing...first album i ever bought was the big wheel (on tape!)

  • Such a beautiful song, one of my all time favs.

    Thank you for sharing this.

  • Your very welcome
