My brother and I were talking about shooting 35 in my holga, and I was thinking about doing redscale type stuff with it too. We, through our conversation figured out that if you just put the film cartage in backwards/upside down, you could redscale your film without cutting the end and flipping it, or buying that expensive garbage lomography sells.
Just figured I'd share...sorry if I was explaining the obvious ;)
@SpamSpammity Yes you could do that, but you won't get the exposure around the sproket holes, which is the best thing about shooting 35mm in this way. You also lose $10 as well ;-)
its honestly not that bad once you have it loaded, and the results can be breath taking. Its definitely something I think every Holga user should try at least once :)
hey man, can you make a video on how to do aperture mod? i really need this on video. cause i didnt get the instructions and picture though. thanks a lot!
I've always used 36 but they get gradually further away. There is a guide on how to make them all an equal length apart but I've never bothered for some reason.
Every time I'm loading film into one of my Holgas, this song pops into my head now... (^_^)

I usually just use 36 clicks of the Holga wheel. Some people have said thats too much but it works fine for me!

How do you find is the best way to unload the film?
I don't own a holga yet but I'm looking forward to giving this a go ...
ManBearPig003 2 years ago
Just make sure you do it in the dark. Take it out of the camera and then wind it back in using the top of the 35mm canister. Hope that helps.

sure. ;]
my holga doesnt vignettes a alot.
i've done velcro, velcro over the counter window. taping my holga front and back.
is there any other way to increase vignette? im not using the mask, and i tape the inside. thanks
adzab 3 years ago
consider completing the aperture mod and maybe using a lower film speed. That will help a lot!
Goholga 3 years ago
thanks, now i know.
will make a video shooting panaroma sometimes?

Its 36 if you're using not mask or the 6x6 mask.
If you are using the 35mm mask it is +-12 clicks.
