Wow. This is really just crazy. I bet V would never have ever imagined to get this opportunity. Singing on stage with your idol? That's living a perfect dream. They both sound amazing, too. If I were Vanessa, I'd be croaking out the song due to sheer nervousness and out of shock that I'm actually doing this XDD Probably V's best live performance, and having significant background only adds to its greatness.

I too apprecciate the the music and the videa is grat as well. The small slices of time that the audience is shown, the audience is small and their background is dark. This is not a youthful crownd that we hear cheering, maybe canned. Most of the videoed heads are changing to grey, they are not the praising voices you hear dubbed in for the YouTube.

Vanessa met the lead singer from Third Eye Blind, Stephan Jenkins, in 2002 when they were on tour together. He became her boyfriend, and they started writing songs together. Stephan co-wrote and produced her second album "Harmonium". Vanessa and Stephan met Lindsey Buckingham at the Record Plant in L.A. when they were recording "Harmonium". Lindsey wrote and played the acoustic guitar part on "White Houses".

Stevie really liked her, and wanted to help her out.

FYI- Vanessa Carlton (A Thousand Miles or Ordinary Day) toured with Stevie in 2005 as her opening act. Stevie has always said that she admired Vanessa because she is the "last of a dying breed"- a singer/song writer. They have been friends ever since then.
