I believe Cheney thinks he is protecting "the little guy" with his tv appearances. He's standing up for the people who were just following orders. But arguably the best way to do that would be to go in front of the camera's, maybe in front of the senate or congress, and say what he knew and what he did. But he will never do that, it would involve a degree of personal sacrifice that he is incapable of. He'll "stand up" for them, but he'll never put himself at risk for them.

Dick Cheney isn't one to talk about national security. He helped throw Valerie Plame under the bus for purely political reasons.
Oh by the way! Plame was engaged in highly sensitive intelligence work to keep nuclear materials out of the hands of terrorists.

He was a good politician but he should have spoke up when he disagreed with Bush more often, we may not be in the mess we are in now. I have heard from him more now than when he was in office. Piss, yah that's how charity should be done. People giving freely of their own volition to help people who need it. No horribly run govt intermediary involved, and no tax obligation to give it to the lazy as well as the needy...though you can if you want. Was a real idiot decision by the Democrats to give charity giving over to the govt--welfare, Mediscare, Medicaid, food stamps, etc;. Each citizen should keep that part of his taxes and decide that for himself.

He did donate a lot yes, but this 77% statistic is according to has income as an executive. Under his stock options with ownership in Halliburton included, that many do not talk about, that amount donated would seem a lot less. You're not factoring in the amount of compensation and money earned from Halliburton. Also, the fact that he has lied about his financial earnings as a vice president from Halliburton, the charity serves nothing more as hush money.

The way the bush admin dealt with katrina was absolutely shameful. In fact the way they deal with real american citizens, soldiers and anyone who is not already part of the power system seems to be to simply disregard their needs, pass legislation that lets business and healthcare run wild and keeps soldiers under armed.

well the counts weren't organized like that but yes among the listed counts there were other reprehensible things listed along side something that they felt was in the league of the reprehensible, waterboarding. It was considered in league with those things, so really you are digging your own hole by listing the other counts that were given weight alongside count 54.
