@bluenail03 When Maggie first appeared on the show Maggie's parents were not alive, because they were killed in a car accident, which left her unable to walk. So when she came on the show she couldn't walk and her parents were already dead.
@bluenail03 She had some help, but very little, from a man named Hank who lived on the farm with her and helped run it. When Mickey who called himself Marty Hanson wondered upon the farm (in which he was suffering amnesia), she let him stay on the farm with her by paying for his room and board by working on the farm.
@lornajenkins97 Gotcha. IMO, there should have had Mickey's siblings return (well, Addie is dead, so she couldn't). I am going to assume that Tom Jr. is dead, but what about Bill & Marie? They returned for Tom & Alice's deaths. Oh well....
They couldn't have had ONE scene between Hope and Melissa? They were BEST friends when they both started on the show. Not even one line? What a rip off for LONG time viewers. Melissa was merely there to strengthen her son's role, and that's it. sad.
Maggie doesn't mind people drinking around them, in fact, they serve alcohol at Chez Rouge, the restaurant she owns! She is in total control of her alcoholism, at least for now, but once Alice dies, all bets are off. Suzanne Rogers has been acting her butt off, and if they give her this storyline, they ought to nominate her for a SECOND Emmy!
Oh yes, I've seen Maggie be around alcohol for years and years and not take a drink...but I was under the impression on this video she was drinking the same beverage as everyone else, at least from how I viewed this. Hopefully we won't see Maggie fall off the wagon after Alice actually does pass (RIP Frances), since she hasn't (from what I've seen) in Mickey's real death, as well as when he was "killed" by the Salem Stalker. But if Maggie does, like you said, I hope Suzanne does win!
@furrypurrylove that was when Mickey had that fling with that wack job Bonnie, Mimi's mom. As much as I love Judi Evans, I couldn't look at her as anyone but Adrienne, or Paulina from AW.
I'm sorry, what's so ridiculous about it? When a character that's been around for thirty years dies, it should absolutely be addressed. Soaps rely on their fans. Long-time fans want their characters treated with respect.
I've been watching since I was a teenager (I'm 54 now) and was there when Maggie met Mickey, so I cried buckets watching this tape. I remember thinking how beautiful Maggie was, and still think she is stunning, and what an actress! I love how well she and Molly Burnett play off each other; Molly has really grown as an actress and you can see real affection between the two.
@asafmn could someone please explain how melanie ended up being carly's daughter and is lawrence her father?did carly really kill lawrence? i haven't watched the show in a long time
@travis082185 Carly and Daniel are Melanie's biological parents. Carly and Daniel went to med school together and had a fling. Carly wound up pregnant by Daniel. Lawrence found out that Carly had a child by another man and was destined to find that child (Melanie) so that he could kill her. But then Carly and Lawrence had an argument that climaxed into her killing Lawrence, in which she claims was to protect her daughter.
BTW - does anyone know why John Clarke refused to even make a cameo return for Mickey's death? Mickey's #02, #03, and #04 were horrific.

Actually, Maggie's mother & father WERE alive when Maggie first appeared on the show. MAJOR mistake on the writer's part.

@lornajenkins97 Hmmm. That is odd. How could a (nearly) crippled Maggie be able to run a farm?

@bluenail03 I know, I thought the writers should have had the Hortons come back for the funeral.

A tear came to my eye when I saw Maggie wearing the "red shoes" Mickey gave her.

Love the Mickey and Maggie flashbacks, especially the first one where we hear dialogue.
Minor detail question...what kind of beverage are they using to toast Mickey? Maggie is supposed to be a recovering alcoholic.
