@LionessCub1 At the beginning, there was a lot of meat, so I gave him extra bone. Nearer to the end, I gave him extra meat. I gave him organs throughout. I let him eat as much as he wanted, then I gave him extra goodies after he was done each time.
I have never added it up. Just like peoples' diets vary a lot, it depends on what quality and type of foods you feed. Some say that feeding raw can cost about the same as feeding a good quality kibble. Some types of meat and some sources are a lot more expensive than others. There are also free sources of meat and bones, such as from people clearing out their freezers or from hunters. This deer rib cage was free from someone who knew a hunter ! Great, "organic", wild meat !! And free !! :)
Heh - yes, I get a kick out of that. He always eats like a gentleman and he never likes to touch food with his paws if he can help it. I put an upside down plastic wading pool on it when he wasn't eating it, to shelter it from the magpies and from the sun. On some days, I'd uncover it, then go out somewhere. When I got back home, I'd find he had dragged it about 10 to 15 feet across the yard, probably because he was pulling at it without touching it with his paws !
Thanks for the nice comments, everyone ! Glad you like the video. This was in Alberta, Canada in early March, so the temperature was perfect - hovering not too much above freezing. It was very thawed out when I first got it, so that's why it looks very pliable on the first day I was videotaping. I was concerned about it being outside for that long, but it was cool enough that it never even started to smell bad !
near the end did you supplement the carcass with extra meat? since it was mostly bone at that point?
btw your pup is gorgeous

How much does it usually cost per year to feed a dog only raw foods?

How does it stay, relatively, fresh enough for him to eat for those 2 weeks.

If you look, you can see the snow on the ground in patches sometimes and a fresh covering of snow at the end- that shows how cool it was outside.

@frogkpr622 It was the perfect temperature outside at that time of year to "refrigerate" the meat, but not freeze it.
