Actually I'm right. I've read studies showing that giving corporations and rich people tax breaks does not encourage them to offer more jobs. It encourages them to invest that money in stocks, bonds, real estate, etc.. and to enrich themselves. If tax breaks could be given to the middle class, then something might happen. Besides we need rich peoples tax dollars to pay for all this debt now. Time to repeal the Reagan tax cuts.

Actually I'm right. I've read studies showing that giving corporations and rich people tax breaks does not encourage them to offer more jobs. It encourages them to invest that money in stocks, bonds, real estate, etc.. and to enrich themselves. If tax breaks could be given to the middle class, then something might happen. Besides we need rich peoples tax dollars to pay for all this debt now. Time to repeal the Reagan tax cuts.

Extending Medicaid does create jobs and invest in our long term success as a country. You want it all and you want it now, but the key here is long term growth and sustainability, something Reagonomics disciples fail at. A job is a job is a job. Who cares where it is. Maybe he knows something that we don't know. However, I feel bringing the Republicans over is showing the U.S. the other 48% that voted for McCain that he is not serving only one side, he is trying to serve the the entire US. I think he is setting up for 2012 when he could reshape the entire map. Let me stress the fact 48% for McCain so the democrats better not take light of the position that they are in. I wish my democrats would have a backgraound & stand firm in what they believe in!

The Republicans will do everything they can do obstruct Obama. They want him to be a one-termer and then snach back the White House. I have a feeling that in 2010, the Republicans will be washed out of the Senate even more as well as from the House. The Dems are really organized for campaigning in the new Internet era. Obama plans to be a populist. That will help in 2010 for sure! I just hope it won't be too late.

If that's the case, then blacks as a whole has to rewrite their entire history. Booker T. Washington, W.E.B Dubois, Malcolm X, etc wouldn't be considered black according to you.

But if you are directly descended from one half white, and one half black (by appearance at least, because no one is pure) there should be no shame to be titled as such. Why does it automatically place you in the black category is all I'm asking. Why is it not as important to be half black / half white?

Don't you see the big picture? Next year she is up for elections. Those there in her state don't know her better than the Democrat running there...chances the Democrat will win. New England is turning bluer in each election. That's the bigger strategy. Voters are less likely to vote for a Senator they didn't elect as an incumbent. The Gov. had to give in for this overall strategy to work.

Patience. There are R's that are retiring and this lady Senator has to be re-elected next year. That seat will be weak. New England is mostly D's. I think Obama is going to show that D's are doing the best and it's the R's fault for not cooperating. Look at the House vote. R's are playing politics with our future. This Stimulus bill is very popular because it doesn't help corporations but Main street..
