What a great combination. The greatest Punjabi singer Nusrat Fateh Ali and the Kalam of Baba Bulleh Shah the greatest genius and poet ever born on this land. Lahori Munda From New York.
i dnt knw whty u guys r realy makng diffrnces about india nd pakistan, i m an indian, i truly beleive, dat bullehshah"s thoughts inspire me alot, it inspires me, towards spirituality, pls stop talkng n dis, pakistani":s nd indians . @arbkhan , i m an indian, bt i thnk whn bulleshah ws dr, it ws hindustan, nt india nd pakistan, pls remove this perception, if i said nythng wrng , pls forgive me, kyunki mei ek anjaan banda hun us khuda ka, joh dol ra hai is duniya mei :(
Truth987seeker:bulleh Shah wrote for all humanity and for all times. He rejected caste, color, religious bigotry, victimization, etc. It is important that our great neighbor India have the same values as us. In fact the whole world needs education in the foot steps of Bulleh Shah. Knowledge should be passed on and let any body take the credit. Bullah will remain Abdullah Shah who said " jirra saanoo syed akhey, dozakh Milan sazaaian. Jirra saanoo rain aakhey, bahishtay peeing paaian"
this kind of kalam should be translated by someone (who is aware of depth of sufiism ) so that new generation can understand it.......................it is necessary
this kind of kalam should be translated by someone (who is aware of depth of sufiism ) so that new generation can understand it.......................it is necessary
Nusrat has really put his heart in this qawwali. Bulleh Shah has put so much philosophy in this love poetry that one has to call him the greatest poet and philosopher of the last 1300 years, equal to Ghalib. They should be made compulsory reading in the schools of Pakistan, India and other countries(after proper translation). They taught love, peace, equality, respect, justice and never to hurt anybody's feelings. This is also the message of Islam, where every body is equal. There are no chosen
@Milahi1935 who cares about india? bulle shah was a pakistani punjabi. why should his work be taught in india? so filthy indians can try to take credit for bulle shah?
this is pure gold, soul of Punjab and Sikhism, our gurus absorbed so much from Sufism, it carries very simple meaning to not hide your soul from the truth of god, be true to life and yourself. life is immense joy if you can feel it. i am proud of baba bulle shah, the only way we could pay our respect by adhering to what he said. our times are riddled with hatred and prejudices. may god help the ignorant souls!
Remove the veil my love, my love, why the shyness now? remove the veil my love. Today, let my thirst quench, keeping your veil aside. If my life ends, so let it, you keep yourself decorated, my love. Ages have past since I said my prayers, yearning to prostate, come sit in front of me.
I have prayed to you relentlessly so many times & I have expressed my submission being on my knees. But I could swear all those gestures seemed so useless Unless O my Beloved You could appear one day
Now who do I complain to of your petty cunningness?
Oh those talks, those sweet talks
You did to me. It seems now as if all were half heartedly done. How I wish I could impose a curse on you for that For your half heartedly done conversations
Lift the veil my Beloved Why has shyness taken over you? For you I fell from the point of grace and dignity & happily embraced the shame myself I gulped the bowl of poisonous pain & lost every last fragment Of sense and intelligence within myself The great Shah Inaayat passed away in silence Longing for You Every faithful heart that ever existed Desired a glance of You & you broke every one of those hearts Tonight I shall not give up so easily
Heer-Ranjha kissa was written by many before Waris Shah but nobody dared to write it after Waris Shah coz who can write better. Similarly Bulleh Shah's kalam is sung by many before Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan Marhoom but who will dare to sing it better than Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan Sahib. God bless him. amin
ahh, this makes me cry so much. beautiful bulle shah and what a beautiful composition and improvising
i wish people would realize their purpose in life and recognize their beautiful creator and all His irresistible and purposeful expressions
this is islam. beautiful love for one's creator and recognizing His place. the mullah's strict, nonsensical and useless islam will lead all followers to nowhere but hell. there is a purpose behind all compulsive directives. mullah has forgotten that
the depth of punjabi music with the legendary pakistani qwalli legends ...............a series of them, topped by this ever great ustad fateh ali...........it will never get any better than this........long live his voice ans rendering.
We undestand your enthusiasm for Spiritualism and Sufism which is all valid. But it is becasue of Mullas that even the baisc version Islam has reached us. Really these people are doing a good job.
this song is for stricklypunjabis collection so if ya wana understand dis letrature ya must be punjabi! its one of the greatest song for ever.....love it!!!!!
In this context Kacha is the opposite of Sacha (true or real). Murh na laee too sar hamari, baatan teriyan kachiyan we. Means You never came back to check on me, your words are empty.
It is hard to explain in English. Part of the meaning has to do with cultural influences of the time when this beautiful poetry was written.
For Example: Lover Abc promised total love for Xyz. Through words Abc said, "I love Xyz and totally care for Xyz". Now being in love Xyz is waiting to see her lover, but Abc never shows up.
Xyz is a little mad and upset (not angry), and asking Abc, "How can I trust you"?
Thanks a lot. That really helped. Can you also tell me the meaning of 'birhon katari tu kas mari'? I'm not sure if these are the exact words. Some difficult Punjabi here:$
The explanation of RanjitSingh reminds me how our teacher used to explain the meaning of Ghalib by examples.
here is the meaning of the line:
Birhon Katari Tun Kass Maari
Birhon means "being away from lover" and Katari is a small knife, comes from word "kataar", which is "knife". So first line means "You attacked me with the knife of being away from me". Means, lover is away from me and it is like killing me.
"Tad Mein Hoi aan Bedil bhari" means "that is why I am so much dishearted"
very beautiful , never had a chance to hear this before. Still want to mention the singing of "ghoonghat chak le sajna" by wadali brothers, they are also unique singers, very original.
@PakLovesIndia..hi dear..just wanna appreciate ur name"PakLovesIndia"..thats awesome.!!..don know whether u r from Pak or not but as an Indian,I love Pakistan as much as India coz afterall we all r one...just one lord's children..May peace come in this world to make it more beautiful..God bless u dear..!!!
Yes may be you are right . May be the divisions have become so powerful but the reality is the hard truth we are all the same all human beings are the same . That principle of love taught by the Sufis was the same and is the same
