  • Awesome... my deluxe is coming soon...

  • That was a terrific Video. I so thoroughly enjoyed it.

  • whats the music called he plays beginning at 4:30?

  • Some explain to me what he was talking about with the waveforms.

  • and what's the song at 1:56 ?

  • Hey great vid! the sounds are amazing

could you tell me the name of the song at 0:28 min

  • The most nasty farfisa video ever seen :D

  • WELP, NOW I GOTTA GET ONE.

  • Funny as fuck !!! LOL . . THE UK LOVES IT !!

  • ha ha ha I love this =)

  • But wait, isn't a square wave just a pulse wave set to 50% Pulse width modulation? If this is true (forgive me if I'm wrong), then wouldn't a farfisa just be an expanded version of "every other organ" instead of different. Sorry if that's nitpicking.

  • @gtjoesalutes That's 100% correct, the main difference is that the irregularly-shaped pulse waves create a far richer harmonic structure than most other instruments using flip-flop dividers (=square waves containing only odd-numbered harmonics)

  • This is great!

  • BEST INSTRUMENT DEMO EVER, FUCKING CREEPY !!! (indeed you're not nuts enough to play Light My Fire) Truly goth instrument.

  • Ah, I see: This appears to be awesome.

  • Nice... just got one of these recently... any your cat obviously digs it too!

  • This is with out a doubt one of my favorite youtube videos in the last year!

Very, very irritating to an awful person like myself who is able only to express my frustrations through increasingly irritating sounds!

    Very well done Mr Millar.

  • @nathanielscott We all got problems and I got sound problems

  • @pdmillar

No, I seriously like the video and sounds. Good job. Have you every thought about a collaboration?

  • @pdmillar Just watched it again. Still really like this video!

  • hey you should demo the YC-20

  • What’s the name of that song at 2:08

  • @626fan82 strawberry alarm clock / incense and peppermints

  • @pdmillar

Thanks I needed to fined it.

I have had that tune stuck in my head and I need to play it all the way through to stop it.

  • The Farfisa is Italian. This goes a long way in explaining it's...questionable...electrical engineering.

  • @someguy805 More like questionable in the BEST POSSIBLE WAY

I work on a lot of Italian synths in my day job :)

  • what a great sound/demo, yes : thank you for this demo. i hope i can fix my yamaha yc 45d as fast as possible !

  • @fuckingharpsichord i've got a YC-20 as well, it's great. very close to a Vox sound. but i looked inside a YC-30 once and it was craaaaazy, good luck!!

  • @fuckingharpsichord the YCs also have more key click than any other organ ever manufactured due to hard keying DC-COUPLED square waves YEEEAHH!!!

  • heehee...cat! :D

  • Paul,

I hope you don't mind, but I have declared this video "The Greatest Farfisa Compact Combo Demo Of All Time!"

    You rock,

    Jim

    farfisa.org

  • @caffeinatedrecording And I didn't even play any Doors covers!! But we all know the Compact is better than a Vox :)

Check out the second to last video I posted. I play this organ in my new wave band.

(Kidding, I have nothing against Continentals or the Doors)

  • @pdmillar Nice! Are any of the lighting effects on you guys live or is that mixed in after? They're ery cool.

Don't tell anyone that I play a Vox live... ( search for: T602DMq_rZM or you probably won't like a Devo cover: Mfu2ZNlxPhY )

It's only because I haven't found the perfect Farfisa yet!

  • @caffeinatedrecording Haha, that's great. I'm just being facetious, I love all combo organs. Voxes even look marginally cooler with the reverse keys.

  • Great cat cameo at the end. And I laughed when you described Farfisa as sociopaths.

  • Haha yes I agree with Lumin. And looks like great instrumnt.

  • hell yes, me and Bobtheskeleton thought that was good brother now MOAR ANALOG lol

  • I love how this looks like it was filmed in the 60's or 70's, what kind of camera are you using?

  • @Luminescence9 It's the same Panasonic WV-3240 tube camera head I have used for a lot of videos. But I was also screwing around with a prototype RGB->NTSC color encoder my friend Lars built when I edited it, couldn't help myself.
