  • I agree about the stock pickups, but they had the unacceptable fault of being being variable output from one string to the next...in another words, one string would be lower volume than the other. I don't care one way or another about pickups as long as the guitar has them, but the stocks were pretty bad...I put in some Fender Noiseless. I know everyone hates them, but they sound fine to me...

  • dude you hit the last chord right on thyme!

  • is the body made of alder or basswood how can you tell?

  • @beeeastmaster no idea what the body is made of but it resonates well.

  • Nice man LOVE mij squiers

  • nice playin,I always enjoyed your stuff on guitarblast,I was bizzle on there

    I have a 1984 mij squire I bought new back then ,and a '94 40th anniv. strat

the mij squier blows it away

I put some texas special p/u's in my squire.

  • played a JV squier and it had the same neck feel as my 85 MIJ squier!!!

  • Just stock pups. Try guitarchaos or guitarbt for backers

  • also where do you get those backing tracks? thnks man

  • alnico or ceramic pickups on neck and middle? stock?

  • Man that was some awesome playing. How much for lessons ha ha

I'm looking into buying a MIJ

  • @jwald51 £27.50 per hour :)

Get a MIJ mate before they go up in price.

  • @wahwah666 I'm getting a beat up '87 today for 300 quid, good deal?

  • @fragman08 Is that a Squier or a Fender? I was offered £450 for my Squier so I'd say it's worh a go. If it plays and sounds like a dream you'll have a near destrucible guitar. Go for it!

  • @wahwah666 It's a fender, got it for £300 yesterday but it's far from pristine condition. Plays rather nicely, rosewood fretboard (HATE maple) and bright red. The bridge, pickguard and (lack of) backplate are different to the stock one, plus a few dents and dinks from 24 years of service.

  • @fragman08 Sounds like a bargain to me. Never mind the condition as long as it sounds and plays like a dream eh?

  • @wahwah666 Also the pups are from a mim fender strat, prefer SSS to HSS so I'm happy with them.

  • @wahwah666 fender I forgot to say, don't see strats at those prices, but the yanks seem to have them cheap =/

  • You're getting more tone out of the stockers than the SD IMHO ......SRV tones down to a tee...be happy!

  • @qommoq Cheers mate...I like em.

  • is this guitar as good as a jv squier you think or a tokai goldstar or a fernandes revival

  • @beeeastmaster Tokai stuff is really good but I think this one has the edge. Fernandes I have never tried.

  • what amp are you using?

  • @cbappa1 It's into a Line6 PODxt mate which ia direct into the PC via USB and then the output comes thru a Tascam power amp into a pair of Tannoy monitors.

  • @wahwah666 I assumed you were running through a POD, sounds incredible. Im jealous of your big hands

  • @cbappa1 Thanks...my hands are probably too big for my Musicman necks...more of a hindrance. :)

  • I have an 85 japan squier I picked up like this but has vintage noiseless pups but thinking of swapping those out for a set of 57/62 Fender pups are these based on a '62 model? what about the frets? seem smaller than regular but has a nice fat tremolo block

  • @beeeastmaster Frets are pretty worn after me hammering them for 20 years but still playable. Not sure about the pups you mentioned. I have a SD Hotrails which is great for rock and metal but not so good for blues. :)

  • get a band!

  • @omarfusion My band days are over mate. Can't be bothered with it anymore. :)

  • @wahwah666 maybe a bluesband? you can play it dude(the blues)...

  • very good, I would like to see you play some of your own style instead of Vaughns. One thing about the blues, it's an expression of ones own inner soul.. you play very well,, check out my tubes papatom609, site, stratconnection... cheers. papatom

  • @papatom609 Thanks Papa Tom. My own style sounds very like SRV but I've never really looked at what he does (what I mean is I don't try to ape him but that neck pickup tone just brings all that blues scale stuff out sounding like him...tone more than licks. :)

  • Awesome Chris, sounds freaking great m8

    nice blues :)

    stay cool

    Steve

  • You got 5 from me Chris!! Damn, that thing sounds so good!!

  • Damn this baby sounds so good. Love it ! Other than SVR can you get the tones of gilmour and other old school rock bands ? ( led zeppelin etc. )

  • It's got loads of different tones mainly due to the stock single coil pups and the Seymour Duncan Hotrails stacked humbucker. I've done covers such as 'Back In Black' and it sounds just like a Gibson. But it's best suited for blues IMO. Thaks for watching. :)

  • The E-series Squiers can still be picked up on the cheap, the Japanese build quality and the necks are some of the best ever made. Great jam Chris !

  • Thanks mate. Yeah, I'm on the lookout for more. ;)

  • nice one chris!

  • Cheers mate. :)

  • 1 star raters are twats

    nice vid chris

  • Especially one stars raters who put the rating up before they've watched the frickin' thing...TIT!

  • Hey, thanks for the 1 star rating. Why bother? TIT!
