Think of the possibilities of integrating science and spiritual knowledge. Maybe we'll learn how to trigger a Eureka moment and have a cascade of breakthroughs!

Integration is happening already ... and speeding up with technology and increased connectivity via the internet and social media. We can share knowledge (and knowing!) so easily these days through our network of relationships. I'll be sharing this - more people need to know about the convergence!

I think Dean's explanation of the way science is fractured is a very wise observation. From what he said, I would deduce that maybe science should take all of it's knowledge that it has gathered and start creating an integration of that knowledge, and in this way, we get the big brush strokes that are sorely needed. It's like a business or an assembly line idea. You need to integrate all of the aspects of the system to get the most mileage out of them. You may even find new ideas this way!

Infact if you look closely at how science aims to progress, particulary physics, its been to to try to connect different disciplines into a larger group. ultimately aiming to connect all the laws of nature to a unified theory. mostly it has been successful in joining 3 out of the 4 fundamental forces of universe, and the tricky one is to join gravity into it. efforts are being made still.
