  • The Huns appeared in Europe at a very convenient time in history when the Western Roman Empire was dying. Attila's campaigns against the Persians failed miserably so he headed toward Europe where there was no one who could fight back. Attila wasn't a military genius, he just attacked defenseless people. Praising Attila for his military ”skills” against the 5th century Romans is like congratulating a street punk for beating up an old crippled Bruce Lee.
