I'm a freshman at college, and no one on my hall likes Paul Simon. It's depressing, but I haven't lost hope that by the end of the year they'll see the light and realize that this is absolutely genius. On the other hand, they love Miley Cyrus, so maybe I should just kill myself now.
@TheFluorescentFish I did not know Miley Cirus, yet the video I saw had 260 million views LOL. In his youth, Paul Simon was better known than Miley Cirus is today. Simon's music will be played and admired for ever. Cirus can only hope for that recognition. The new generation's popular musical tastes have sadly changed for the worse, but kids' tastes will mature as they become more introspective. You probably matured early. Wish I could say that of my freshman college son LOL.
@NewYork2Havana Every generation talks like this, thinking their generation wrote the best music. I like music from several generations, personally, and I can't say which generation was best. Miley Cirus writes fun music, most of which I dislike.
@dmberrigan I don't usually listen to the performances on SNL. Maybe it's just me, but who gets up from 11:30 to 1am to listen to music? I'm a musician too, and still- I watch SNL solely for the laughs. But when they played this on that episode, I ended up rewinding it and listening to it twice. That's how good this song is.
