  • Thanks for showing the beauty of a system that never recieved recognition for the potential it had. Just the same as the Sega CD, Saturn and Dreamcast. SEGA were pioneers.

  • I'm so glad this exists, because I can't get the PC version to run, even on dosbox.

  • What the hell was that all about? at 0:25 - 0:29 That was both funny and wrong.

  • I belive that the music on the salamander level of EJ2 is the moonligth sonata by mozart.

  • beethoven

  • Yes,you are correct,I didn´t even noticed the mistake....

    Moonligth sonata by Beethoven.

  • hahaha i wish i had a sega cd

  • am i the only one who thinks the sound of collesting the health is a lot cooler on the snes?

  • Of course it is man. This is SEGA CD ;)

  • ooops my bad. I though you said it is a lot cooler than snes! :P That was the proper thing to say actually!

  • does this remind anybody of doug? The way the animation is?

  • is there buttville the descent able to be uploaded? that was a mad track.

  • omg... the game was perfect for genesis but for sega cd it's just brilliant. especialy music! gotta download it right now

  • if they only would make games like this now, today is all ego shooter

  • PLASMA!

  • xD Dude, is it bad that I looked at 00:52 and thought Jim invented the Soulja Boy?

  • I have a serious feeling that Special Edition was PAL only... at least from what I have come across the internet... there was no NTSC version even if it was label (U) - it was still SLOW (!!!) PAL crapconversion... so if it is true then you can do nothing but grab the standard NTSC cartridge or simply SNES for the music...

  • I think the genesis/CD version was better than the SNES version in terms of sound/music (and I like the controller better) though SNES did have nicer backgrounds.

  • agree 110%

  • it only had a better background in New Junk City in the SNES version

  • @Snotnarok i totally agree

  • @Snotnarok

the pc version is superior to the sega cd version, because the sound effects and jim's voice are crystal clear

  • @benjamillion The SCD version is better, because you get to use a genesis controller to play it.

  • @Snotnarok If you're talking about the 16 bit game cartridge, SNES was better, Sega CD, though, was clearly better than the 16 bit SNES game cardgridge.

  • @varanidguy I disagree but okay :V

  • @Snotnarok SNES had better graphics, more and better sounds, the music was a hell of a lot better, plus the controls were perfection.

  • @varanidguy That's your opinion. I don't like the SNES controller, things are smoother in the genesis version and I like the music better on the genesis. I have both on console, I just don't dig the SNES version

I like what I like, you like what you like, it's an opinion if you don't like mine get over it, I'm not going after you for what you like so go play the SNES version if that makes you happy.

  • wow, you just let him eat you.

OH NOES WHERE'D MAH CHEWING GUM GOH!

  • this was supposed to be the superior earthworm jim, lol

  • its the same as the genesis except the title screen?

  • some new lvls and cheats plus a diff wepon otehr then plasma blast

  • It's funny, while the artists of the game go, they have a great sense of art design, reminiscent of Tex Avery, but not much concept of game design.

You never quite know what space Jim is occupying or where the platform that he is standing on begins or ends.

The stage layout is trivial and has no effect on the player. It is a seemingly random garble of platforms and enemies.

  • the sound effects from the pc version come out better and clearer

  • wow

  • ssss

  • Very nice, i love Earthworm Jim, the Sega CD and PC versions were the best

  • And the Mega Drive(Genesis)/SNES versions, who is better?

  • It's a mixup, IMO.

The SNES had a few graphical effects absent from the Genesis version, including the lens glare effect on the first level. And, the music, IMO, was better sounding on the SNES version and digitized sound was clearer.

But the Genesis version had more sound bites and wasn't missing a level that the SNES version did.

But, like "Mickey Mania," the Sega CD version trumps both.

  • Great opinion!

    Thanks!
