this laptop seriously sucks. it has done a gret job immitating macbooks but the mous and trackpad are absolutely shocking. To be quite frank i was considering buying this until i tried it out. I am lost as to wheter to go for a PC or MAC......... URGHHHH.

It;s really not that good - it has issues with the synaptics touchpad, overheating problems and the battery is not that great. In contrast, it has a great configuration, sweet and sleek design and good low-light webcam.

Dont know why so many peeps say bad things about this lappy. Mines got i5 and hd5650 combo. My battery lasts up to 4 hours on surfing. 3 watching a video. And after some tweaking/optimizing im able to run it on passive (fan off) when doing simple tasks such as surfing the web, word processing, messenger etc.

Please do not buy one of these laptops. It makes and incredible amount of heat. My laptop (this model) broke down after 2 months, and i had to send it to repair. Hp lied to me saying it's a software problem instead of saying hardware which it was. If they had told me the truth i could have returned it. They are very smart people and i was the dumb one for buying their product. You may hate my comment but i'm just doing you a big favour. I highly recommend getting a Macintosh laptop. Thank you.

Just bought the dv6-3090 with 6gb ram, 640gb drive, radeon hd 5640 1gb, and i7 720 1,6GHz, it runs greate, i play Star Craft II with no problem on pretty high settings, and i don't have to wait for anything to load or compile when i do programming. Pretty happy with this buy.

@xoxmusicxox15 it's around 2 hours, never tested properly cause i usually run on power. But it's a really powerful laptop. it scored E13778 in 3D Mark Vantage, not so bad for a laptop machine. If you want power you should go for it.

I prefer the new dv7. I think it's $1300 at bestbuy. With i7. 6g ram. 5650. Separate number pad. Larger screen. Etc. Pretty sweet deal.... Oh and btw, hp has done a great job with the newer design. I hated the previous pavilion lineup with black gloss finish and weird designs on the cover.

yeah i was weary of the screen resolution also but then again its not terrible, 720p on a 15" is similar to 1080p on a 24" screen. My suggestion is wait for the envy 14 to come out

in australia it has been out for 1-2 weeks however they are speced models and not customisable through the HP website, as for the USA you can purchase the base model for as low at 800USD and add touchscreens and backlit keyboards!!!!
