  • I'm about to buy my first glider and get some lessons. What is the wrong with the BHPA teaching? Can you please recommend me a technical PG book to read up on before starting lessons? One which in your opinion does not contain junk science theories. I'm looking for a good in depth text on wing performance and aerodynamics before I start lessons, I hold a pilots licence and am not too impressed with some of the crap on the internet :-)

  • Wrong.. ask your self this, why does 'normal' methods of training result in an accident rate weel over 20x that of what I teach? Answer "Instruction Error"! I do NOT recomend ANY PG book, we use the AFE PPL books in training, in addition to Bernoulli & Newton. There are a number of articles I wrote (slightly 'dumbed down') at ParagliderMagazine 'dot' info If you send me a YouTube PM or phone me I can cover this in more depth.

  • OOOPS..... well spotted it of course should say 2006! Thats what I get for putting the clip together after a day at work then an evening paragliding in Fife, which by the way was Day 99 of my 2007 (SEVEN) flying season! This year has been a record year for our club with members having flown on over 100 days so far!
